Rust for PlayStation and Xbox: When is it Going to Be Released?

Much has been made of the launch of Rust for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One . Since it was officially announced in November 2019, many users have been continually asking about the status of the port that is run by Double Eleven, and after a first delay without too much news, it seems that we already have the first clue about its launch.

A very slow launch

Rust for PlayStation and Xbox

Since they confirmed that Rust would arrive on consoles in 2020, many users during the month of December wondered where the hell was the game they had been waiting for more than a year. That prompted Double Eleven to release a statement to apologize for not meeting deadlines, but they basically confirmed what many already thought: 2020 has been a very difficult year to work with.

They had nothing to share about the game, so they called us until sometime in 2021 to find out what’s new, and that’s where we are. With a resurgence of Rust thanks to trendy YouTbers and the EGOLAND server, the game has reached sky- high ratings on Twitch , also being the most purchased game on Steam in recent weeks. But what about the console version ?

It already has an age rating

Rust ESRB

Fortunately, it seems that things are moving forward, and at least the most boring procedures seem to run their course. This is what we can intuit after knowing that Rust has achieved the age rating for the console version on the ESRB website, indicating that it will be available for PS4 and Xbox One, and not for PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S (all points out that we will have to pull backward compatibility).

With a rating of Mature , the game is intended for adult users due to the violence that can be seen in the game, although if there is something that will attract special attention when playing it, it is the feeling of hatred that can be reached by confrontations between players. Having already the age stamp that came with the box of the game, does that mean that its launch will be imminent? Probably not.

What about PS5 and Xbox Series X?

PS5 tamaño

Considering the difficulties that Double Eleven has encountered in developing the version for the previous generation, we very much fear that an improved version optimized for the new consoles could take too long. At the moment the information published in the ESRB file leaves no room for doubt, so for now the only playable version will be the PS4 and Xbox One.

Do we have a release date?

It is one thing to have the age rating stamp, and another to have the release date of the game. For that we will have to continue waiting for Doube Eleven to shed some light on it, but considering that their last statement was published on December 7, probably at this point they still cannot say anything new about it.
