Revealed: What you can do with Apple glasses

The highly anticipated WWDC 2023 event is just around the corner, and with it, Apple‘s mixed reality glasses are expected to make an appearance. There has been a lot of talk about this product, but there is still much uncertainty about what it will offer users. In this post, we’ll discuss some of the functions that are believed to be included in this groundbreaking technology.

Sport, always important for Apple

Promoting sports activity among users has always been one of Apple’s main pillars, with products such as the Apple Watch leading the way. And now, with the upcoming release of the mixed reality glasses, it seems that this commitment to sports will continue, as many of the features of the device will be focused on sports and fitness.

Apple plans to offer users of its mixed reality glasses the opportunity to train with virtual trainers who will guide them through various exercises and routines, similar to the offerings of Apple Fitness+. The glasses’ operating system will integrate Apple Fitness+ functionality, making it easier for users to stay fit while using the device. Additionally, the glasses will offer meditation sessions with various graphics, sounds, and voiceovers to help users relax and de-stress.

Native apps will be present

As expected, all built-in Apple apps will be incorporated into the upcoming operating system, supposedly named realityOS or something similar. The App Store will be accessible through a 3D interface, allowing users to choose which applications they want to install. Among the apps, Apple TV will have a prominent role, offering a more immersive viewing experience for content, especially for MLB and MLS matches. Additionally, Apple will provide a TV app specifically for virtual reality videos of various environments.

As WWDC 2023 approaches, Apple’s mixed reality glasses remain a topic of intense speculation. While the product’s exact capabilities are still unclear, some potential features have been revealed. As with the Apple Watch, sports activity is likely to be a key focus for the glasses, with users able to train with virtual coaches and access meditation sessions with immersive graphics and audio.

The glasses are expected to run on a new operating system called realityOS, with a 3D interface for accessing the App Store and native apps like Apple TV and FaceTime. In virtual meeting rooms, users will be able to use Memoji-style avatars, and the glasses’ cameras will enable collaborative work on 3D interfaces.

Despite the hype, there are doubts about the glasses’ potential for success, and even within Apple, some employees are uncertain about the product’s future. With an expected starting price of $3,000, the glasses are a significant investment. However, with their track record of creating demand for new products, Apple may yet succeed in making the glasses a must-have item. As more information becomes available in the lead-up to WWDC on June 5th, we will keep you informed.
