Resistance Test: Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra vs iPhone 11 Pro Max

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has come with many cutting-edge technologies, but also to eradicate the label that the more expensive, the more fragile. The terminal has proven to be very resistant and now it demonstrates it again, making the iPhone 11 Pro Max seem too fragile next to it.

Resistance Test: Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra vs iPhone 11 Pro Max

Nobody wants their brand new terminal to fall to the ground. But unfortunately it usually happens when we least expect it and sometimes before we have the right cover or screen protector. Now, the new Note 20 Ultra has been subjected to tough drop tests and also compared to the iPhone 11 Pro Max. What is revealed is that the Samsung terminal has been solidly built.

Resistance to falls

The tests have been carried out by the YouTube channel PhoneBuff, experts in this type of test. In the first of them, both the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and the iPhone 11 Pro Max, fell on their backs. Both suffered visible damage to the rear of their glass, but the iPhone 11 Pro Max suffers damage to its entire surface while the Note 20 Ultra only has appreciable damage in one corner.

Recall that both teams have Gorilla Glass as their main protection, but the Note 20 Ultra boasts Gorilla Glass Victus, which is advertised as the most resistant on the market. Apple does not refer to the type of Gorilla Glass that make up its iPhones. The differences between the resistance of both terminals are accentuated more in the following drops.

The next fall takes place with the blow being in the corners. They are dangerous falls since they tend to concentrate all the impact on the terminal’s chassis and greatly weaken its structure. In this case, the Note 20 Ultra suffers slightly more damage than the iPhone 11 Pro Max, but both remain intact in their operation after this test. However, it is in the third round where the Note 20 Ultra shows its chest when falling face down. The Samsung terminal only shows small scratches while the iPhone panel cracked after the blow.

A clear winner

By being dropped 10 times from a height of more than 1.5 meters, the Note 20 Ultra comes out unscathed from the 10 falls, while the iPhone 11 Pro Max ends up shattered and begging for an end to the torture, with pieces of glass detached and losing even the camera function, although retaining its touch functions. The difference is therefore abysmal and Samsung once again shows that its Note 20 is one of the most resistant high-end phones on the market.
