The manufacturer Realme continues to play hard with each new release and, on this occasion, they wanted to show us with the arrival of one of their latest launches on the European market. A phone that points very high without harming our pocket. I have been able to thoroughly test the Realme GT and today I want to tell you about my experience and if , for me, it is a recommended phone .
Design (almost) perfect
If at any time you have read any of my analyzes here in El Output, you will know that I like to start with what first enters our eyes before buying a new mobile: the physical aspect. And, in this case, I really wanted to give this model a fairly complete and accommodating set for all tastes.

First of all, I want you to know that this phone will be available in two completely different finishes : a more classic one with a blue gradient and a much more aggressive yellow with a black stripe, very Kill Bill style. In addition, the yellow part of the latter has a very satisfactory leatherette feel to the touch.

That said, if you are a more gamer person, who enjoys the most striking aspect, you could opt for the one that we have tried. But if you were looking for something more classic, less shocking, you should opt for the blue one.
Speaking of this rear part, in addition to the design that we have already mentioned, we find the camera module of this realme GT. A set of which I will give you more details later but, referring to this section, I want to emphasize that it is not as bulky as that of other models on the market. This is very appreciated to be able to use it resting on any surface.
Turning now to the edges, I have had a somewhat bittersweet feeling here. On the one hand, I have to admit that it is a very complete phone, since on these edges we find: double speaker, usual keypad system, USB-C port for charging and audio jack. But, if it is true that the union between the front and the edges has that small bump that in mobiles that aim at the high end (something that I am already anticipating from this Realme GT) I hope they are somewhat more polished. In the end, it is not something dramatic and we will end up putting a cover on it that will make us not realize this.

And, to complete the design, let me tell you about the great panel (in every way) of the Realme GT. This is a 6.43 ″ super AMOLED screen with a maximum resolution of FullHD + , which has a refresh rate of 120 Hz , a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits and 100% of the DCI-P3 color space. All these surnames translate into a large panel both in size and in specifications, with which we can enjoy the best way to watch content such as series, movies or YouTube videos, with very vivid colors, great contrast and a certainty of 10 in the color.
Of course, I would like to highlight 2 aspects of this screen:
- If you are a gamer user, this panel will be ideal for you thanks to its size and the refresh rate of 120 Hz. But of course, keep in mind that it is not the ideal size for those who have small hands or want a small mobile for some reason. .
- Everything looks very good through this screen but I would have liked that, being a smartphone that aims at the high end, it had actually incorporated a panel with a somewhat higher resolution.
In the upper left corner of this panel we find its only front camera with the hole on the screen, which will be in charge of facial unlocking. Accompanying this we also find the fingerprint reader that is hidden under the screen.

This biometrics pack is the best I have tried so far. It is true that facial recognition is a simple system, without projection of points or anything like that, but its operation is super fast as well as that of fingerprints that has not failed me at any time.
Power at the highest level
Now that you know the Realme GT better on the outside, it is time to tell you what it includes under its panel. And, as I have already mentioned throughout this article, the latest member of the Realme family bets on the highest range. This means that we find:
- Snapdragon 888 5G
- 8GB – 12GB LPDDR5 RAM capacities
- 128 GB internal storage – 256 GB UFS3.1
- Battery 4500 mAh with fast load 65 W
With these specifications, you can already imagine that in any situation the Realme GT is going to behave incredibly well. Whether for simple day-to-day tasks such as social networks, browsing web pages or demanding tasks such as playing powerful games, with this phone we will not find any lag or problem. What’s more, that 120 Hz refresh rate will enhance the sensation of fluidity that we can enjoy while playing or browsing the smartphone through any menu or option.

Maybe, speaking of autonomy, you think that with such a large screen those 4,500 mAh are somewhat short. Personally, I have reached the end of the day perfectly with normal use. But if you are an intensive user, you will probably need to go through the pits if you give it a lot of cane. Realme has solved this aspect by incorporating a 65W fast charge , which means that in just 20 minutes we can charge 65% battery (starting from 0%). In addition, it also has different energy saving modes.
But of course, it is useless to have the best hardware if well optimized software is not incorporated. In this sense, as usual, the GT has the RealmUI manufacturer’s customization layer in its latest version running on Android 11 . As I have already mentioned in other reviews, this is not the cleanest layer on the market, but it has improved in recent times by polishing certain aspects.
As Realme has indicated, the version that will reach your hands if you decide to buy it will not have third-party apps installed. Also, if you like customization, this layer incorporates some interesting settings with which you can adapt the interface to your needs and preferences.
Photo: the “shorter” leg of the Realme GT
Turning now to the photographic section, I already tell you that the feeling that has left me has its lights and shadows again. The cast that composes it is made up of 4 cameras in total:
- 64 MP main sensor , with f / 1.8 aperture.
- 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor , with 119º of vision and f / 2.3 aperture.
- 2 MP macro sensor , with f / 2.4 aperture.
- 16 MP selfie sensor .
First of all, surely you miss a telephoto sensor to take those shots with a greater focal length and that many users like so much (including myself). On this occasion, we have the popular cutout on the sensor with a x2 and x5 digital zoom accompanied, of course, by an image processing system. It’s enough? Okay, let’s talk about the results in this section.

The truth is that when the light conditions are good, the photos that I have been able to take with the realme GT are of great quality. Above all, that main sensor stands out , which is capable of capturing images with a good dynamic range, striking colors but not at all unreal, and perfect sharpness. The sensor crop for a zoom photo also gets to take great images as long as we use the x2, since the x5 loses a lot of quality.

The wide angle seems to me to be a correct sensor, with somewhat duller colors and the usual distortion that we can find in these lenses. And, regarding the macro , here in addition to being a lens that we will only use sporadically, the quality is inferior to the rest. Moreover, I would recommend that you use the zoom better with the digital crop before the macro itself.
The selfie camera , on the other hand, takes pictures that are in the average that we can expect from this type of smartphones. Of course, do not expect the same result as with the main lens, because the sharpness and colorimetry are lower.

As for photos in low light , here the quality is reduced as expected. Still, we can take some decent shots although the management of the high beams fails at times. Something that improves a lot using the night mode.
In short, despite the fact that the captures are very correct, especially with the 64 MP sensor, I would have preferred that instead of being the real macro I had incorporated a greater zoom but, yes, optical.
A mobile that cannot be asked for more for less

At this point, would you recommend the Realme GT? The short answer is yes, but with certain nuances. But before I clarify this for you, I need you to know one last very important aspect to understand my assessment: the price.
The Realme GT has an official price of 599 euros for the 12GB + 256GB model that, if you take advantage of its launch offer, you can buy for 549 euros between June 21 and 22 .
Analyzing well the smartphone that I have had in my hands, the design and its possibilities is something that the manufacturer has taken care of (although I have my discrepancies with that union between edges and screen). Regarding the components, operating system and user experience, it is a phone at the highest level. It may be that photography is that section that, even though it can take good captures, is about its “weak” point.
But, even with this, we are talking about a mobile that allows us to have features of the highest range at a very reasonable price. What’s more, it is currently the cheapest phone to feature the latest Snapdragon processor.
That said, if you want a great phone without spending too much and photography is not at the forefront of your preferences, the realme GT should be among the candidates to choose. Especially if you are one of those people who enjoy a big screen.
