Realme 8 5G , that is the name of the new member of a family that has grown significantly in recent weeks. Regarding the device itself, you can already imagine what its main feature is, although what may surprise you the most is the price at which you can browse at maximum speed when you use one of these mobile networks.

5G connectivity for everyone
For a few days I have been testing the new realme 8 5G and I have to tell you that its reason for being is none other than offering 5G connectivity at a groundbreaking price and that anyone could afford. Because although it is true that there are different configurations, being able to connect these fast networks from a phone that does not exceed 200 euros is the least striking.
The only drawback for now will be that in your area and your operator offers 5G connectivity, but if this is the case and being able to access information quickly is what interests you the most or being able to quickly share data with other users, then it is clear that this phone could be the ideal candidate.
Still, it would not be fair to value it only for this characteristic. Despite being an inexpensive terminal, it offers some other additional detail that could be interesting to you.
Sober design and good finishes
Lower mid-range mobile phones have never excelled in design matters, but that does not mean that devices with good finishes and elegant aesthetics cannot be offered.
That is what I personally think of the Realme 8 5G. This a smartphone that does not surprise by design or attracts the eyes of the rest of the people you come across, but it is true that it is very well finished and at that minimum level that is already required of practically any brand and model of phone.
Finished in blue, the materials aren’t anything premium either, but the feel in the hand is nice . And the most important thing, at least for me, is a phone that feels comfortable both in terms of size and weight.
There is also the issue of the keypad, easily accessible when you hold it and other aspects such as having a 3.5mm Jack connector that is always interesting for the multimedia experience and taking into account that many of those who do not invest excessively on a phone they probably won’t on a wireless headset either.
In short, it is physically an attractive phone, although there will always be opinions of all tastes. So rate yourself based on the images.
A 90Hz screen is a gift
Finding a screen capable of offering a 90 Hz refreshment in a phone with these characteristics or, better said, price is a gift and a very pleasant surprise when you see what changes the experience when scrolling through menus and other interfaces relative to one of only 60 Hz.
Logically having this refresh rate is not the only important thing in a panel, but in general the truth is that the screen used here by Realme performs very well. With nice colors, good level of brightness, contrast and saturation.
I am aware that it is not the best screen on the market, but there are other proposals that, costing more, offer the same or even sometimes a worse solution with which the system, games and much less multimedia content such as series and movies are not enjoyed the same way. So very well the screen section in this Realme 8 5G if we take into account the product that it is.
Of the sound just say that it is correct. It has not surprised me and it is true that at maximum volume it distorts slightly, but it is not a drama because I do not think that most of them turn the volume up to full at all times. And when you want to enjoy more of the sound section, it will be better to connect headphones, wireless or traditional cable, and that’s it.
MediaTek is no longer what you thought
The performance of any entry-level or mid-range phone is always a concern. And it is not because the user who is betting on an economic solution does not understand that he will have to assume certain commitments, but because sometimes it is even worse than it should.
This time the Realme 8 5G bets on a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor that is nothing you can imagine at first and weighing negatively. The manufacturer has put the batteries and the truth is that the performance is good in every way. It is not comparable to the latest from Qualcomm that we see in the high range, but you can do everything.
You will even be able to play with this Realme 8 5G. The loading times of heavier titles will increase, but no one will take away the leisure time if you want to have it in those moments of free time.
In addition, another advantage of the latest MediaTek processors is that energy consumption is also better optimized and that is important here due to the extra energy that 5G consumes. Thus, together with a 5,000 mAh battery , personally I have not had any problem to achieve a day or day and a half of use.
As always, everything will depend on the use of each one, but it does not stand out as positive or negative. It is a correct phone that meets a section as important as autonomy.
In photography it is not where it stands out
However, if you are a user who cares especially about the photographic section, I am afraid to tell you that it does not stand out here. In order to offer certain features and maintain an attractive price, you have to cut back and it seems that it really has done it with the camera.
The Realme 8 5G offers a triple main camera, but of the three sensors only the 48 MP is the good one . Then there is one in black and white and another macro that are of little use or little impact on the whole.

Even so, evaluating the camera, in good light conditions it can achieve the odd interesting photo, but the processing does not play much in its favor and they end up being photographs that do not attract much attention. But as we said, this is not the real reason why we should bet on the Realme 8 5G.
The front camera is a little better, although it is not that you are going to hallucinate with the results it can offer.
An internet phone
I told you at the beginning and I repeat it again, the realme 8 5G is a phone designed to enjoy 5G and its benefits in terms of coverage and speed of access to information. So that should be the main reason why you or any other user should bet on this terminal.
In the rest of the section there are lights and shadows, because aspects such as the fluidity of the screen are very good, but the photographic performance detracts from a product that cannot be asked for much more for the price it has.
And, taking into account the current promotion until May 20, for 179 euros the model with 4GB of RAM plus 64GB of storage and 229 euros for the 6GB plus 128GB is practically unrivaled.
