Very different processors
When we lift the hood we see two very different processors. The Realme 5 has the Snapdragon 665, a processor that is more than compliant, but that is gradually being far from the most advanced models.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro has a MediaTek Helio G90T , which although it is true that it has not been removed from a certain controversy, it is performing at a high level as one of the quintessential mid-range gaming processors.
The Realme 5 arrives with 4 GB of RAM while the Xiaomi terminal reaches 6 GB of RAM. In both cases we found 128 GB of internal memory expandable by microSD cards.
Ten cameras between the two
When we turn them around, we see four cameras in each device, including wide angle, macro and depth sensor. The big difference is that the main sensor of Realme 5 is 12 megapixels, while the Redmi Note 8 Pro is 64 megapixels . The front sensor for selfies is 13 megapixels in the Realme 5 and 20 megapixels in the Note 8 Pro.
And the battery?
Although they move with Android 9 Pie, both terminals are candidates to receive Android 10 with their different layers of customization during 2020. In the battery section, the Realme 5 takes the palm with its 5,000 mAh compared to 4,500 mAh of the mobile from Xiaomi. Both support fast charging, being 10W in Realme and 18W in Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Prices and conclusions
At the moment there is a difference that exceeds 80 euros between the two terminals. The Realme 5 Pro can be purchased at the moment for 149 euros, compared to the 233 euros that the Redmi Note 8 Pro now costs.
If the goal is to have a modern mobile phone, with four cameras, achiever and performance, but rushing to the maximum the price, the Realme 5 Pro should be our option. On the contrary, if we can save the difference of those 84 euros , we will have more power and more photographic capacity with the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
