Both Xiaomi and Realme have several interesting terminals below 200 euros. But in addition, both companies have their bets with four-camera phones in this same range. The battle is getting tighter, so today we wanted to compare the Realme 5 Pro with the Redmi Note 8T. Let’s see the differences and advantages of one rival over another.
The market is so tight that the entry range (in price) is gradually becoming an entry range (in benefits). The Realme 5 Pro and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T are two examples of this. Both terminals have sufficient technical specifications for a large number of users, in addition to elements that we are seeing in mobile phones as a configuration of four rear cameras.
Screen and dimensions
Both terminals have the same size, with 6.3 inches and a FullHD + resolution . Interestingly, they also show the same pixels per inch. For more similar, both sport a drop-shaped notch to house the front camera. As for the dimensions, the Realme 5 Pro is lighter with its 184 grams, compared to the 190 grams of the Note 8T. However, the Xiaomi mobile is thinner reaching 8.35 mm compared to 8.9 millimeters of the Realme 5 Pro.
Processors and memory
When we lift the hood we find a difference to keep in mind. The Realme 5 Pro integrates a more modern and advanced Snapdragon 712 , compared to the Snapdragon 665 of the Redmi Note 8T. This gives it a bit more advantage in the performance and energy efficiency section. The Realme can arrive with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and a single version of 128 GB of internal memory. The Note 8T offers 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage. In both cases this capacity can be expanded by microSD cards.
In the back we find four cameras in each device and with a configuration nailed in both cases. Both the Realme 5 Pro and the Redmi Note 8 feature 48 megapixel main sensors , 8 megapixel wide angle and 2 megapixel macro and depth sensors . There is a slight difference in the front camera, since the Realme 5 has a 16 megapixel sensor, compared to the 13 megapixel sensor of the Redmi Note 8T.
Connections, battery and OS
They also have the main connections, including Bluetooth 5, NFC or headphone jack. The two sport a fingerprint sensor in the back. In the autonomy section, the Realme 5 Pro reaches 4,035 mAh compared to 4,000 mAh of the Redmi Note 8T . Both batteries support fast charging, being 20W in Realme and 18W in Note 8T. Both teams move with Android 9 Pie and the ColorOS and MIUI layers , hoping to make the leap to Android 10 during the first months of the year.
Is the price decisive?
The prices of both devices are very even at the moment, and in portals like Amazon we can get a Realme 5 Pro for 179 euros , while the Redmi Note 8T starts at 174 euros . However, in the case of the Note 8T, we are talking about the 64GB version, while for those five euros the Realme offers 128 GB. We’ve also seen a more modern processor and more RAM capacity on the Realme device, something that balances the battle in its favor.
