Poco F3 GT: Features and photos of Xiaomi gaming mobile

Poco F3 GT

We start this file regretting to know that, as with many other Xiaomi smartphones, this Poco F3 GT does not seem to arrive in Spain. Perhaps the brand will change its decision but for now the only way to get this interesting gaming smartphone is through import stores.

And it is really a shame because if you like to play with your mobile, Poco’s smartphone features are perfect for it. Not only because of its compatibility with 5G networks, the presence of a camera very close to the top of the range of the firm and the screen appears, but also because of the inclusion of physical triggers in its profile to play in the most comfortable way.

Poco F3 GT display and design

The Poco F3 GT features a glass back panel with a matte finish that really makes the phone stand out. It is available in two very impressive color options, such as Gunmetal Silver and Predator Black.

You should keep in mind that the smartphone is 8.3 mm thick and weighs around 205 grams, so it is not the heaviest gaming phone on the market. But it is important to note that there is no 3.5mm headphone jack, although you have a 3.5mm USB to Type-C adapter in the box but you won’t be able to charge and use the headphones at the same time.

But if the phone stands out for something, it is because it incorporates two magnetic cam buttons. We have seen them before in both the Asus ROG and iQOO 3 smartphones, but here the Poco F3 GT plays with the advantage of offering a lower price.

These triggers have a good feel and are very sensitive and offer quite an advantage in first person shooter games. You can use them when you control the phone in landscape mode.

As for the panel, the brand has used a 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD + display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 480 Hz touch response frequency, 1,300 nits maximum brightness, HDR 10+ and WideVine L1 certifications. On paper, a perfect component with good viewing angles and perfect for playing games or streaming content. In addition to this, this is a 10-bit panel that makes everything look more pleasant on the screen and is protected by Corning Glass 5 against bumps and scratches.

Unfortunately, there is no fingerprint sensor on the screen, as it moves to the side of the phone.

Performance

Xiaomi’s smartphone uses MediaTek‘s Dimensity 1200 processor, which can be paired with 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X memory. There are 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage options. but this internal memory can be expanded using a microSD card. The processor offers consistent performance when it comes to everyday use and even gaming. However, it has some other limitations that will appear over time. To this must be added an essential 5G connectivity to play at maximum speed and without a trace of lag.

We are talking about 5G connectivity, both with SA and NSA networks, in addition to Wi-Fi 802.11, a / ac / b / g / n / n 5GHz, MIMO, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and GPS.

Camera and battery lower than expected

The phone comes with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. On the front, we have a 16-megapixel selfie sensor.

It is a fairly basic set that adds the macro as a plus, but really we are rarely going to dedicate ourselves to taking photos of insects or coins, so we would have appreciated changing it for a somewhat more useful telephoto lens, despite the fact that this increased the price.

Some media that have analyzed the phone claim that the smartphone suffers from poor image processing that could be solved with a future software update but that, for now, makes the phone not up to par in this section.

Of course, there is no lack of the ability to record video in 4K with the rear camera or in 1080p with the selfie lens.

Regarding the autonomy department, the capacity of the cell is not the highest that we have seen in a smartphone of the brand, but not the lowest either. It is appreciated that it exceeds 5,000 mAh capacity, which should offer autonomy to spend about 10 hours playing without rest. However, the best thing at this point is its 67W fast charge that allows the Poco F3 GT to be fully charged in just over an hour.

The best and the worst

Strengths of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G

  • 100% gaming design : The addition of physical triggers is almost mandatory in a gaming mobile to play comfortably and this is one of the great assets of the Poco F3 GT.
  • Fast charging : Fully charging the phone in just an hour and being able to continue playing is a breeze thanks to Poco’s 67W fast charge.
  • Quality screen: Good size, good resolution, good refresh rate and good touch response, that’s all we need in a smartphone to play games and just what the F3 GT offers.
  • One of the cheapest gaming mobiles : All these features barely cost 300 euros to change, being probably the gaming phone with the best value for money of the year.

The worst of the Chinese firm’s phone

  • Without minijack : Again if we want to use headphones with the phone we will have to use wireless ones or a minijack adapter to USB Type-C and not charge the mobile while we use it.
  • Camera with flaws: The camera leaves much to be desired, but we have to forgive the brand given the price of the device.
  • No possibility of purchase in Spain: At the moment the brand does not intend to sell this great smartphone in our country.
