Just over a year ago, OPPO introduced its new Reno family to the world, and the Chinese company has just released its fourth generation. Today was the day set in the calendar for the presentation of the new OPPO Reno4 and OPPO Reno4 Pro . The two terminals claim that a change in design is possible and that 5G is here to stay in the mid-range of 2020.
The new OPPO Reno4 arrive as direct successors to the OPPO Reno3. The company is not leaving much room to breathe, since in just over a year and three months we have seen the birth of the OPPO Reno, OPPO Reno2, OPPO Reno3 and the recently introduced OPPO Reno4 families. As usual, the “Pro” label of one of the new models implies improvements in hardware superior to its brother, but both have 5G connectivity and a triple rear camera.
The model that gives its name to this family has a 6.4-inch FullHD + screen, which has a screen with a hole (in the shape of a pill) to house a double selfie camera. Inside we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, a chip intended to provide 5G with part of the mid-range of the present 2020 and 2021. It comes accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of internal memory expandable through up to microSD cards .
On the back we find a triple camera with a 48-megapixel main sensor , accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel profanity sensor. As we discussed earlier, on its front and housed in the hole of its screen, it has a dual 32 + 2 megapixel camera with integrated AI functions.
Connections and battery
The OPPO Reno4 mounts a brand-name 4,020 mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC fast charge and is compatible with 5G, NFC or Bluetooth 5.0 networks. It also does not lack the fingerprint sensor on the screen or the face unlock. Luckily it still integrates 3.5mm headphone jack and of course it comes with ColorOS 7.2, the latest layer of OPPO based on Android 10.
OPPO Reno4 Pro
For its part, the OPPO Reno4 Pro also has a screen size of 6.4 inches and FullHD + resolution, but it has a refresh rate of 90 Hz. It integrates the same Snapdragon 765G processor, but in this case it can reach 8 or even 12 GB of RAM , being its storage of 128 or 256 GB also expandable through microSD cards.
In the camera section we also find some notable difference from what was seen in his brother. In this case we also have a main 48 megapixel sensor , but the ultra wide angle goes up to 12 megapixels, to which we must add a 12 megapixel telephoto sensor with 20X digital zoom capacity . On its front it integrates a single 32 megapixel sensor also housed in a hole in its screen.
Connections and battery
Of course it also has 5G, ColorOS 7.2 and an on-screen fingerprint reader. In this case, the battery drops to 4,000 mAh with 65W fast charge and maintains the same connections as its brother, such as Bluetooth 5 or the 3.5m jack.
Prices and release date
Both models will go on sale in China this June . For now we have no news about its possible launch in Spain or estimated date. The prices, taking into account the change from the Chinese yuan, is as follows:
