OnePlus does not want to end 2020 without continuing to increase its portfolio of terminals, although not as we are used to. The battle between the different manufacturers makes OnePlus move in battles where it did not get involved before, but the mid-range and entry range are now its objective with the new OnePlus Nord N10 and OnePlus Nord N100 . Leaked mercilessly in recent weeks, the first ranks as an option below the OnePlus Nord, while the second is the most affordable terminal ever launched by OnePlus.
It is difficult to understand the play of OnePlus, but it may make sense if the company sees the need to go into more pockets and fight in other ranges. However, it seems strange to see the OnePlus fighting in the range of less than 200 euros, but the OnePlus Nord N100 may make more sense within the two bets, since it will carry the brand a larger number of users. However, the OnePlus Nord N10 has more modest features compared to the OnePlus Nord, and its price difference is not as attractive as it might seem.
OnPlus Nord N10
The terminal has a 6.49-inch screen, with FullHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Inside we find the Snapdragon 690 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. In addition and for the first time in the brand, this memory can be expandable by microSD cards up to 512 GB. Its dimensions are 164.9 x 65.1 x 8.49mm and it weighs 188 grams.
At the rear we find four rear cameras, with a 64 megapixel main sensor , a 13 megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor, and macro and monochrome sensors of 2 megapixels each. On the front and inside the hole of its screen, we have a 16 megapixel selfie sensor. The OnePlus Nord N10 has a 4,300 mAh battery with 30W fast charging. It does not lack a 3.5mm jack, 5G connectivity and a fingerprint sensor on the back. How could it be otherwise, it moves with Android 10 camouflaged with the Oxygen OS 10.5 layer
OnePlus Nord N100
For its part, the OnePlus Nord N100 raises the size of its screen to 6.52 inches, but it has an HD + resolution instead of FullHD +. Also, given its low cost, the refresh rate remains at the 60 Hz standard. Its dimensions are 163 x 74.7 x 8.95mm and it weighs 190 grams.
Inside we also find the Qualcomm seal, but with a much more modest Snapdragon 460 , input performance that comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, also expandable via microSD cards.
At the rear we find three cameras with a main sensor of 13 megapixels, and macro and depth sensors of 2 megapixels each. In the hole in its screen, the front sensor reaches 13 megapixels. In this case we do not have 5G connectivity, but it does keep the 3.5mm headphone jack and the rear fingerprint sensor. It also moves with Android 10 and Oxygen OS 10.5
Pricing and availability
The OnePlus Nord N10 5G comes is available in the Midnight Ice color variant, while the Nord N100 is offered in the Midnight Frost color. The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is priced at 349 euros, while the Nord N100 costs 199 euros. Both are now available for purchase on the official OnePlus website.
Risky bet or disappointment?
It will be necessary to see how the market fits these devices, since OnePlus is a total unknown in the entry range where the OnePlus N100 will fight with terminals from Realme, Xiaomi, Samsung or Motorola. For its part, the OnePlus Nord N10 offers limited features compared to the standard OnePlus Nord, whose official price starts at 399 euros and has superior features for only a difference of 50 euros.
