The Samsung Galaxy S23 have already been official for a couple of days and, although they do not represent a great revolution compared to what was seen last year, they have enough incentives for you to be considering buying one of the new mobile phones from the Korean firm.
However, beyond reviewing all its novelties, something that we have already done in the technical sheet of the Galaxy S23, we are going to focus on seeing what are the characteristics that differentiate the 3 models of the family , and what are the specifications that share the new phones from the manufacturer.

All mobile features
At first glance, the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus are the most similar phones in the family , leaving the S23 Ultra as the best flagship in the range, with more battery, a better quality screen and, above all, with a camera from another level.

What differentiates the S23 from the S23 Plus?
Let’s start with the simplest. Since we are talking about two smartphones that are practically the same, it is best to face both with their older brother, the S23 Ultra. But, for this, we must first know what are the specifications that distinguish the two ‘cheapest’ models in the family.

As you can imagine, the S23+ is a larger and heavier mobile , since its screen is larger, reaching 6.6 inches compared to 6.1 for the base model. That is why the energy needs are also greater, enjoying a 4,700 mAh cell that also charges faster.
The last difference between the two smartphones is that the only model that sells with 128GB of storage is the smaller S23 . The rest of the specifications are identical between the two models, including the design.
Differences of the S23 with the Ultra model
The first of the more expensive model’s quirks is that the S23 Ultra also features a built-in S Pen , as the S22 Ultra did, as well as a squarer frame and edges compared to the rounder appearance of the S23 and the S23+. In terms of design, we are also facing a larger and heavier smartphone, since its screen grows in size, although not by much.
And it is that the screen is the second big difference of the team. This terminal has a 6.8-inch panel and boasts a Quad HD+ (3088 x 1440) resolution like its predecessor, resulting in a pixel density of 500 ppi. Therefore, the Ultra offers the sharpest screen , as you would expect, and the best for enjoying any type of content. Also, while the S23 and S23+ have an adaptive refresh rate between 48Hz and 120Hz, the S23 Ultra has between 1Hz and 120Hz.

They all share the same Qualcomm processor, but the most expensive model, meanwhile, comes in a choice of 8GB or 12GB of RAM, with 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage options , the latter being exclusive to this particular model.
The battery is of the same charge as the S23 Plus, that is, with a power of 45W, but its capacity is somewhat larger, reaching 5,000 mAh. On paper, it does not translate into an improvement in autonomy, since its screen requires more resources than those of the other two models.
But, as expected, the big change between smartphones is in its camera. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra remains top of the range for taking photos, offering a 200-megapixel main camera with an f/1.7 aperture and an 85-degree field of view, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 and 120-degree field of view, and two 10-megapixel telephoto lenses, one with an f/2.4 aperture and the other with an f/4.9 aperture, offering either a 3x or 10x optical zoom.
For their part, their little brothers only have one of the telephoto lenses, the one with the lowest range, and a main sensor with 4 times less resolution than this Ultra model.
All these differences make the price much more expensive, as we grow in size and specifications within the new family of Samsung mobiles.
So… which one do I buy?
As you can see, the most basic differences between the S23 and the S23 Plus lie in the size and the battery, what happens is that this extra size in the cell is compensated with a larger screen, so the autonomy of the two smartphones is very similar. Of course, only the largest model has a 45W charge.
If it makes up for you to pay 250 euros more for a larger screen size and a slightly faster loading speed, it’s your decision, but we’re left with the 6.1-inch S23 which, despite being smaller, is just as powerful , it lasts the same time on and has the same camera as its older brother. In addition, it will always be more comfortable to use with one hand and to keep in your pocket.
Now, if you are one of those who is not satisfied with having the best, and you want to have the most and you need a smartphone with which to take brutal photos, then yes, there will be no other option than to go for the Ultra model. It is not that the S23 takes bad photos, not at all, but it is that the 200 MP sensor at the top of the brand’s range and its 10x telephoto lens are made to amaze all and sundry.
