Nintendo Switch Pro: Screen, Dock, Base and New Details

The announcement of the new Nintendo Switch Pro is imminent, but it seems that Nintendo continues to beg and is making us suffer more than necessary. Luckily, some media are getting extra last minute information, and now it is Vandal who claims to have direct information from one of the peripheral manufacturers that is already working on solutions for the new console.

More screen, but same size

Much has been said about the new screen that the console will carry, an apparently 7-inch OLED panel, but the unknowns that surrounded the screen revolved around the size of the device itself. Will this increase in inches imply a larger size of the new Switch?

As Vandal has learned through an accessory manufacturer, the body of the new console will be identical to the current one, so technically it will feel practically the same in the hand, enjoying much smaller frames (finally) and to the point of being able to continue using the same joy-cons from the first generation (that would be pretty good).

A dock that looks at the internet

At the hardware level, it has not been possible to know much, since the clues are mainly related to the aesthetic aspect of the console (we imagine that the manufacturers will only have access to planes of the exterior of the console), so at the moment nothing is known related to the processor and the graphics power, but rather to how it looks externally, and from there, to know some of its physical elements.

But something that has been given details is the dock, which apparently will include an integrated ethernet port. This will allow us to connect by cable to the internet to, presumably, have a higher connection speed and enjoy much faster downloads, especially now that the games could occupy more, since the dock will be able to carry a signal with 4K resolution.

A very Surface base

Surface 6

Much has been written about the support base of the current Switch. An accessory that remained more time dispersed somewhere than placed on the console itself. The company had its reasons for this element to be removable, but we cannot deny that it was a real nightmare that detracted from the quality of the product.

Now it seems that the new console will include a removable fin that will occupy the entire width of the device, a solution similar to the one used by Microsoft‘s Surface that would allow you to enjoy different mission angles and much more stability and robustness.

But, when is the new Nintendo Switch going to be presented?

At the moment we still have no date for the supposed Nintendo Direct broadcast, but all rumors suggest that it will be something imminent, since Nintendo’s plans go through revealing everything before E3 begins. And knowing that the video game fair begins on June 12 … there are no more days than next week. When do you think Nintendo will be encouraged to finally announce the console? Around here we bet for Thursday, June 3.
