Elgato’s new webcam caught all eyes on the day of its presentation, but it was not the only product of the brand that was unveiled and there are a series of new accessories that for streamers and other content creators can become a lot more interesting.
Design and functionality: the basis of Wave

Elgato’s Wave accessory line has grown a lot in recent months. Devices already known to many have been incorporated with others whose objective remains the same: to generate content in the most comfortable way and with the highest possible quality.
Thus, for example, we have seen proposals such as sound absorption foams that in rooms with poor acoustics help to control the rebound of audio waves that could end up in reverberations.
However, for some the work that Elgato is doing on design issues is also very important. And there will be times when that does not matter, but if you have attractive functionality and aesthetics much better. Because if you do live shows or create video content, that will surely interest you.
Well, along with said webcam, other products were launched such as the Wave Mic Arm, Wave Mic Arm LP, Wave XLR and Stream Deck MK 2. These four have interesting features, so let’s see them.
Wave Mic Arm and Wave Mic Arm LP
The new Elgato arms are designed to be used with microphones and the idea is that the user has a versatile system when it comes to placing it in the most comfortable position when recording a podcast, a speech or performing a live show.
Even so, there are differences between the two models since one is designed to have the microphone placed with a lower profile and hence the way it folds. Although that does not mean that it also has the option of raising a little so that the microphone is always in the best position.
The other, for its part, is more similar to other current arms on the market such as the Rode PSA-1 or the Blue Microphones Compass. That is to say, here the microphone is higher and that has its advantages in certain situations. Although the interesting thing is that this arm could also be used to place cameras of contained weight to make zenith shots, etc.
With both solutions what is clear is that a much more comfortable setup can be created. Also, although the prices are not the lowest Lode of all, there are details in the construction of both like those rails for cable management that make everything much more aesthetic.
Elgato Wave XLR

On the other hand, there is the Wave XLR, a USB audio interface designed to use microphones with an XLR connection. This will allow you to get the most out of proposals like the one recently analyzed by us, the Shure MV7 .
Here again the design plays an important role, but mainly because of how easy it is to adjust the levels with that wheel of generous dimensions and those LEDs that are very visual.
Stream Deck MK2

Finally, Elgato Stream Decks have always turned out to be very attractive products for streamers and other users who regularly perform live on platforms such as Twitch or YouTube.
The new Stream Deck MK2 version is not a radical change compared to previous versions, but it does add the odd novelty that is equally interesting for some. For example, stickers to personalize the device or a base that can be removed if you want to use it in another way.
Building the perfect setup
Today there are a multitude of manufacturers that create accessories for all this content creation that offer design, quality, functionality and even different prices.
The good thing about Elgato is that over time it has achieved a fairly complete catalog that ranges from LED lighting, stands, microphones, sound absorbing foams, webcams, etc.
So it is already a matter of assessing if they are the best option for you or if you can find other options to attract attention on Twitch and other platforms.
