Being able to take screenshots is very useful for many users. These captures are stored on our mobile, within a specific folder, although they will also appear in their corresponding section, within the photo album. The problem is when our mobile makes more screen captures than desired, that is, when we find captures that we have not taken and that also take up unnecessary storage space.
It is something that we should not ignore, since if our mobile takes screenshots alone, it can be cause for something worrying. However, fortunately, in most cases it is not serious and has an easy solution. We are going to take a look at the main reasons and solutions so that our phones stop taking screenshots on their own.
Latest installed apps
The first thing will be to check the latest applications installed, to verify if any of them may be the cause of the problem. To do this we can go to Settings / Applications, but we can also enter the Play Store / My Applications / Installed / Order last use. The idea is to delete the apps suspected of causing the failure , such as games or various tools.
Remove the cover and protector
In order, we must first remove the case, as it may be causing accidental screenshots, by putting too much pressure on the on and off buttons . Recall that on most Android mobiles, the joint press of the volume down key + the power button generates an automatic screenshot.
If the screenshots are usually in black, it is possible that the mobile has this problem when it is carried in the pocket. We will have to try to remove the cover to see if it is the source of the problem . In that case, there will be no choice but to buy another cover better adapted to our terminal. If that doesn’t work, the next step is to remove the screen protector, as some cheap third-party protectors can generate these screenshots.
Disable capture gestures
There are several gestures that are used to generate screenshots more easily, but in various situations they can generate some accidentally. Users who have had this type of problem have also solved it by deactivating the “Screen capture with three fingers” and Screen capture by sliding the palm methods. Not all smartphones have these options, but you can check it by typing “Capture of screen ”from the search box in the Settings menu.
Update mobile
If we are too left with system updates, the solution may be within reach of an update. Many of these updates for our mobile, improve the performance of the screen, eliminating errors such as ghost touches. If we have pending updates, it is advisable to update the mobile to see if the error is solved. We can do it from Settings / System / System Updates, or looking for “updates” from the search box.
Shock or deterioration
Another reason for accidental screen captures has to do with the deterioration of the buttons responsible for taking the captures. If the mobile has received a blow or has some time, it is possible that screenshots are automatically generated due to the malfunction of these buttons, which may even be pressed or remain inside.
