One of the smallest computers on the market. This is how we could quickly describe this small PC created by the Chinese company Mele that can boast of compact dimensions and of being completely silent thanks to its fanless design. This is the Mele Quieter2 .
Mele Quieter2, a fanless mini PC
It cannot be denied that any mini PC and particularly those that are really small ones have always turned out to be very striking devices. It is true that later on it will be the needs of each user and the type of use that they want to make of them that will make them interesting products or not, but at the beginning we like to see this type of proposal.
The Mele Quieter2 is one of them, a small-sized computer that could be used in different ways. For example, it could be an ideal device to mount a small multimedia center and place in very minimalist setups. It could also be interesting as a lightweight workstation that you could even take with you wherever you go. What’s more, with these portable USB monitors that exist, you could enjoy a kind of laptop if you need it.
There are many and very varied scenarios in which a proposal of this type could fit. And it is true that there are other similar options, you could even use an Android phone that offers a desktop interface when connected to a monitor such as, for example, Huawei or Samsung offers with its DeX mode. But here the great advantage is that we are talking about a mini computer with Windows 10 Pro.
Mele Quieter2 technical specifications
Beyond the size, similar to what a 2.5-inch portable hard drive would occupy, if you wonder what makes this Mele mini PC special, the answer is two things: technical characteristics and fanless design.
The mini PC is equipped with an Intel Celeron J4125 processor that is accompanied by 8 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128 GB SSD . In addition to these data, which would be the most important for an initial idea of the performance that it could offer in different daily tasks, the team would also incorporate the possibility of expanding this internal storage capacity through the use of M.2 drives. Without ignoring the external options or the use of microSD cards that can also be read thanks to an integrated reader.
Along with this data, it also includes WiFi 5 connectivity, Bluetooth 4.2 and a gigabit ethernet port. Which is striking for its dimensions and shows that it can be made and included as standard. Something that brands and models like the latest iMac introduced by Apple don’t do. Although that’s another story, right?
With four USB 3.0 connections, two HDMI outputs capable of supporting output to two 4K monitors, speaker / headphone jack, power over USB C connection, and all of the above, it’s this set of specs and the fanless design that lets you being completely silent which makes this mini PC so eye-catching.
In addition, the price is not bad because it can be found for about 200 euros . Logically it is not the only option. There are other very similar, but so attractive by design and not so many. So, despite knowing that they are very particular proposals and for a specific audience, something similar to what happens with the Raspberry Pi, if you are interested and were looking for such a device, you may be interested in taking a look. At least to see options and to decide which one really interests you the most for the use you want to give it.
