The market for portable projectors continues to see gradual growth, and Xiaomi is determined to maintain its presence in this space. While the company already offers some impressive models like the Mi Smart Projector 2, it is constantly expanding its family of projectors. The latest addition to Xiaomi’s lineup is the Q3 Neo, a device that deserves attention for its performance and aesthetics.
A Xiaomi Collaboration with Xming

Xiaomi is known for its collaborations with various firms, especially in its home market of China. In one such partnership, Xiaomi has joined forces with Xming to introduce the Q3 Neo portable projector. This projector draws design inspiration from the well-regarded Mi Smart Projector 2 but incorporates a more casual and approachable aesthetic while not compromising on technical capabilities.
The Q3 Neo features a new LCD projection system called Photon, offering a native resolution of 1080p. It boasts a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and provides a brightness of 230 ANSI lumens. While this brightness level is half of what the Mi Smart Projector 2 offers, both Xiaomi and Xming assure users that they can still expect vibrant and detailed images, ensuring a fantastic visual experience. The projector also includes a range of automatic adjustments, such as trapezoidal correction, focus, screen alignment, and obstacle avoidance during projection.
For audio, it comes equipped with a dual speaker system delivering 3W of power. Moreover, it seamlessly integrates with Xiaomi’s Mi Home ecosystem, allowing users to control and synchronize it through the corresponding smartphone application. The Q3 Neo is equipped with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 for enhanced connectivity.
One of the standout features of the Q3 Neo is its design. With a compact and portable body, it boasts a white finish with orange accents, giving it a more casual and informal look. This design departure is a refreshing change from the typically neutral and monotonous aesthetics of projectors, making the Neo Q3 visually appealing.

Neo Q3 Price and Availability
As of now, Xiaomi and Xming have introduced the Q3 Neo projector exclusively in the Chinese market, where it carries a price tag of 799 yuan. This roughly translates to about $112 or 102 euros. It remains uncertain whether the Q3 Neo will make its way to Spain or other international markets and at what price point. However, if it does arrive in other regions, it’s likely that the attractive pricing will remain relatively low-cost, with some adjustments to account for local factors.
