iPhone 12 Lose 4G and 5G Coverage When Traveling. Why?

Every time a new iPhone hits the market, it is fun to bet on which will be the main failures that mobile phones will present and that will “anger” their users. We have already seen failures with the lock screen and with the battery charge but perhaps the most worrisome is the one that has to do with the connectivity of the iPhone 12.

As you can see in the following video, the Cupertino-based company has actively and passively influenced the 5G connectivity of its new phones. But what is the use of bragging so much if, when push comes to shove, the iPhone 12 is experiencing problems that prevent it from connecting to networks, not just 5G, but 4G?

Unable to connect to the network

According to what can be read in the company’s support center, the owners of the new iPhone models suffer a significant problem that prevents them from connecting normally to 4G and 5G networks. Apple has not yet solved the problem but it should get down to work now as it is quite serious. According to those experiencing this problem, their phone loses all signal bars from the coverage icon and a message appears on the screen that says “Your iPhone is not activated.” As those affected say, this occurs in both 4G LTE and 5G networks.

It seems that the origin of the problem is, curiously, in the trips, as detailed by one of the users affected by the network losses on the phone.

After suffering the disconnection of the mobile I restarted the network configuration and the same problem continued. I rebooted the iPhone as a new iPhone and reinstalled everything from scratch (not from a saved backup) and same problem. I drove my car and found the exact location where the phone lost the network, which means that I reached the end of the coverage area of a certain antenna. It seems that something happens to the phone when it is connected to a new antenna.

The solution that users who suffer from this problem on the iPhone 12 have found , for now, is to activate and deactivate the Airplane mode as soon as the message appears on the screen, which immediately returns the connection. Others say that they have to restart their phone or remove and replace the SIM card in order for their phone to sync with their carrier’s network, something quite inconvenient especially if you are not constantly looking at the phone and do not realize when you have lost the signal.
