iOS 14 Beta 6, iPadOS 14, macOS Big Sur and More Now Available

Since the introduction of iOS 14 and the rest of Apple‘s new operating systems, the Cupertino company has established a beta launch plan every two weeks. However, it was already rumored that they would step on the accelerator at any moment and finally it has been. After launching the fifth betas on Tuesday of last week, we find that the betas 6 of iOS 14, iPadOS 14, macOS Big Sur, watchOS 7 and tvOS 14 have been released.

A beta is still a trial version that, despite being more mature, still contains errors that make its installation not recommended for everyone. In fact they mainly focus on developers so that they can test their applications and tools before the official launch for the public. If you are a developer or you are already curious to try the news before than before, you will find the sixth beta of all operating systems now available as if it were one more update.

If you did not have any beta installed and you want to do it with a developer profile, you can do so by going to the article in which we tell you how to install an iOS beta. Of course, we insist on emphasizing that there may be errors such as increased battery consumption, applications that do not work or close suddenly, visual bugs that place icons or other elements of the interface where they do not correspond, and so on. In any case, we highlight that as a general rule these betas are being quite stable compared to those of other years, which does not mean that there are problems.

At the time of writing this article, a few moments have passed since the sixth beta was released, so no outstanding aesthetic or functional novelty has yet been found. In any case, it is expected that the focus of this will be on the correction of errors and performance improvements after a fifth beta in which a multitude of bugs with the widgets and other new aspects of the iPhone and iPad interface have already been solved. The same happens with the rest of the systems, which do not incorporate great new features in these versions. Although to highlight is the arrival of spatial audio to the AirPods Pro , a functionality announced at WWDC 2020.

Regarding public betas , it is expected that in the next few hours or days the respective seventh versions will be released for those who opted for their download instead of the developer ones.

With an eye on September

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted Apple’s plans to launch new iPhones, but little is known about the launch of new operating systems. Usually products and software coincide, so around September 20 the new versions of iOS and company are usually released. This year, knowing that the phones will not arrive until October or November there is great uncertainty. Taking into account that some analysts suggest that we could see new iPad and Apple Watch this next month, it would not be surprising that they already come with iPadOS 14 and watchOS 7 as standard, so these versions would have to be released now.

Possibly next week we will see the seventh betas and who knows if they will be the last. We will remain attentive to any possible information, official or not, that sheds a little more light on this unknown. What is clear is that there is less and less so that everyone can enjoy the software innovations presented at the last WWDC 2020 in June.
