It wasn’t long ago that the latest version of LineageOS, the burning nail that millions of users cling to to keep their devices up to date, became official and compatible with more than half a hundred smartphones. Now its compatibility extends to new phones from OnePlus and Xiaomi .
At the end of last month, LineageOS 18.1 hit the Net to be installed on various phones from Google, LG, Motorola, OnePlus, Samsung, Sony, Xiaomi and others. Now, 2 new OnePlus devices and 1 new Xiaomi device join the software compilation list: The OnePlus 6 and 6T and the Xiaomi Mi Note 3.
Android 11 via LineageOS
The latest LineageOS 18.1 compatible OnePlus devices are the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T, joining the OnePlus One, 3 / 3T, 5 / 5T, 7 Pro, 7T Pro, 8/8 Pro and 8T on the compatibility list with the software. The OnePlus 2, 7, 9, Nords series and all carrier variants are still not compatible with the latest version of LineageOS.
The good thing is that many of these phones, due to the brand’s update policy, do not have to receive an official Android 11 update for, so LineageOS 18.1 is probably the most stable way to run Google’s new operating system on the two smartphones of the brand, launched 3 years ago.
Xiaomi’s Mi Note 3 is the new mobile from the Chinese firm that is now compatible with LineageOS 18.1 and this one is much older. The phone was launched in 2017 with Android 7.1 Nougat installed. It received official updates for Android Oreo and Android 9 Pie, but that’s where the OS updates for the device ended. LineageOS is capable of taking you up to Android 11 and you can give it a second chance.
Other manufacturer devices compatible with this operating system are the Xiaomi Mi 5, Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, Xiaomi Mi 8, Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, Xiaomi Mi MIX, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S, Xiaomi Mi Note 2, POCO F1 and the Redmi 7.
