When we use the mobile to listen to music, watch movies or podcasts among many other things, the speakers of our mobile becomes a very important element, something for which OnePlus integrates the Dolby Atmos options in models such as the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus 8 with its variants. This option, however, is limited and limited, making it impossible to take advantage of the equalizer in OnePlus.
However, the developers of XDA Developers have set to work with the intention that we can take advantage of it, as if we can do with Dolby Atmos technology in other smartphones such as the Razer Phone. To do it, you don’t have to be an expert, but you do need to have a domain, following the steps that we are going to explain so that we can achieve it.
How to unlock Dolby Atmos options on OnePlus
With the intention of taking advantage of the equalizer of our mobile, we will proceed to eliminate this limited equalizer at first, and then install the one used in the Razer Phone, where we can adjust the sound to our liking. To achieve this we have to start with a few simple steps on our mobile to be able to use ADB:
- We go into settings and go to phone information.
- Next we tap repeatedly on the build number to activate the developer options.
- Then we go to Settings> System and tap on developer options.
- And finally we activate USB debugging.
Install ADB on Windows
Then we will download the necessary ADB files with which to access our OnePlus smartphone. We can download them from this link and then we have to unzip the file. We will generate a folder with several files inside but we have to stay in the first one, to press the shift key and then right click, then we will see the PowerShell option where we will press.
The next thing is to connect our mobile with the cable to the computer and choose the MTP transfer option on the screen to configure the OnePlus equalizer . The following we will do from the ADB screen that we have previously opened, where we are going to write the command: adb devices
Now it’s time to uninstall the sound equalizer in OnePlus, something that we are going to do with the command: adb shell pm uninstall –user 0 com.oneplus.sound.tuner
We install the equalizer of the Razer Phone
The only thing we have left to do is install the new sound equalizer, something that we will complete from our mobile like any other external application. We download the Dolby Atmos application without limitations from this link and grant the necessary permissions to complete it, then we install it and now just by going to Settings> Sound> Dolby Atmos, we will see how we have more options.
In the previous version that we see on the left we had nothing more than three predefined sound modes, but now with Dolby Atmos unlocked we can access all the bands of the equalizer to modify the sound of OnePlus phones to our liking, even adding the function to enhance the sound.
