The Redmi brand, after its split from Xiaomi a little over a year ago, continues to give the firm great joys. In fact, the Redmi Note 9 are one of the best-selling smartphones in our country for several weeks in a row. Unfortunately, the Redmi K30 series has never reached our country, at least 100%.
The closest thing we have in Spain to a Redmi K30 is the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite, as these two terminals share many of their specifications. For this reason we can think that the specifications of the Redmi K40 that today begin to filter could be the same as a hypothetical Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite or a Poco model.
Obviously, the Redmi K40 will be launched as the successors of the Redmi K30 and now a new leak emerged on Weibo, the famous Chinese social network, claims that the next “mid-range” of the firm will come with an OLED screen that will have support for 120Hz refresh rate. It is also rumored that there will be a hole drilled for the front camera sensor.

This makes it quite clear that mid-range smartphones will become high-end in 2021 with all the letters. Also do not forget that previously, it was leaked that the Redmi K40 Pro could be launched as the first phone equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 , a processor that will be presented in December and that will be manufactured using the 5 nm process, like the Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 9000 and the Apple A14 Bionic.
On the other hand, the Redmi K40 is expected to come equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ along with 5G connectivity support. It will feature a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor and will support 33W fast charge technology. These rumors collide with other leaks that, maintaining the common characteristics, changing the processor for a Snapdragon 775G SoC.
According to industry rumors, the Redmi K40 is expected to go on sale later this year, while the Pro variant will be available next year. This would be an obvious advance compared to March, the month in which the Redmi K30 were presented.
How would it arrive?
As we have said a few lines back, while the Redmi K20 landed in the form of Xiaomi Mi 9T, this year the same did not happen with the Redmi K30 and the Xiaomi MI 10T are terminals created “from scratch”. However, the Mi 10 Lite is quite similar to the Chinese Redmi K30 so it would not be surprising that some mid-range model looks the same characteristics as this Redmi K40 in our country, well into 2021.
