I have updated my Amazfit watch and I do not receive notifications

How delighted we are to receive new updates on our devices and how angry we end up when, because of you, something stops working as it has been doing until now. This is precisely what has just happened with the many Amazfit watches after the recent update of Zepp , its control app.

We have experienced it in our own flesh. Just yesterday we saw how the Google Play Store warned us that Zepp had a new version pending to download and install on our device. Just after applying it, is when the problems begin.

Many users have complained that, after installing this version (as has happened on other occasions), suddenly the smartphone stops synchronizing with the watch and the smartwatch is unable to replicate the notifications that we receive on the mobile. No calls, no WhatsApp messages… nothing at all. That is, the main function of the device is canceled after installing the update.

Fortunately, it is not a drama without a solution. What happens is that the application is unconfigured and we must touch the smartphone settings again to grant Zepp the necessary permissions that allow us to receive these alerts .

Receive notifications on your Amazfit again

It is not that there is a solution that will help us to end this specific problem, without there being several. You don’t even have to touch anything on your Amazfit watch , because we are going to do everything from the application settings of our phone, regardless of its brand.

  1. Open the Settings app on your mobile
  2. Go down to the applications section and locate Zepp in the list that appears on the screen
  3. Enter the permissions menu
  4. Allow the app to run in the background

Now you should do the same, but in Zepp , where you will find that, as we have done from the Android configuration, it will allow the app to run in the background without problems. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Access Zepp
  2. Scroll through the bottom menu and click on the Profile tab
  3. Select your Amazfit device
  4. Check the Run in background option
  5. Check that Zepp is running in the background.

Finally, you have to check that the applications that previously sent alerts to the clock without problems have not been misconfigured. This is something you have to do, again, from the Amazfit app itself .

  1. Enter the Profile tab
  2. Select your watch
  3. Select the App Alert option
  4. Choose all the applications from which we want to receive notifications

If this doesn’t work for you, there’s still one more thing you can (and should) do: allow special notification access for the app . This is done in the following way:

  1. Open the Settings app on your mobile
  2. Scroll down to the applications section
  3. Select the Special Application Access menu
  4. Go to Device and app notifications
  5. Locate Zepp in the list that appears on the screen
  6. Set the Allow option
