Huawei has launched no less than five P40 series terminals on the market. The most modest of all, it has also been the last to land. We are talking about the Huawei P40 Lite E, a terminal with sufficient features for a large part of users. Precisely, this model can sow days at the time of purchase, having next to devices like the Huawei P30 Lite from last year. For this reason we wanted to compare both devices, to see which one is worth buying the most right now.
The funny thing, as we will see later, is that both the new P40 Lite E and the P30 Lite are at the same price. Neither of them currently reaches 200 euros, something that we will see later and that can be vital to opt for one or the other.
Screen and dimensions
The first thing that strikes you is that despite being more current, the P40 Lite E has an HD + screen resolution, compared to the FullHD + resolution of the P30 Lite. The size of the P40 Lite E also grows to 6.39 inches, compared to 6.15 inches for the P30 Lite. Another important difference is that the P40 Lite E already shows a hole in its screen to house the front camera, while the P30 Lite sports a notch in the shape of a drop, more typical of last year.
As for weight and dimensions, the featherweight is taken by the Huawei P30 Lite, with its 7.4 millimeters thick and only 159 grams. For its part, the P40 Lite E reaches 8.13 millimeters thick with 176 grams of weight. There is no doubt that in the pocket, the advantage is for the P30 Lite.
Processor and memory
Two mid-range Kirin shine under the hood, but the most advanced processor is for the Huawei P40 Lite E, since it integrates the Kirin 810, compared to the Kirin 710 of the Huawei P30 Lite . In addition, the two terminals have versions of 4 GB of RAM, but only the Huawei P30 Lite reaches 128 GB, while the P40 Lite E remains at 64 GB. Also keep in mind that the P30 Lite has a “New Edition” variant with 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, which would make the gap wider. The two terminals can expand this capacity using microSD cards up to 512 GB.
Triple camera on both
Both terminals sport a triple rear camera setup, but the jump is noticeable in the new P40 Lite E. This terminal has a 48-megapixel main sensor, along with an 8-megapixel wide-angle and 2-megapixel depth sensor. The P30 Lite has a 24-megapixel main sensor , along with an 8-megapixel wide angle and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. In the selfie sensor, the palm is taken by the Huawei P30 Lite with its 32 megapixels, compared to the 8 megapixels of the P40 Lite E.
Connections and battery
We found practically the same connections on both terminals, including the 3.5 headphone jack . The P30 Lite has the services of Google, and it was released with Android 9 Pie, although it has already begun to update to Android 10. The P40 Lite E for its part, has landed without Google services and its version of Android is 9, with EMUI 9.1, without any news of its update to Android 10.
If we look closely at the batteries of both terminals, we also find an important difference. The P40 Lite E reaches 4,000 mAh, while the P30 Lite has 3,340 mAh. Only the P30 Lite has 18W fast charge, while the new model has a standard 10W charge.
Twin prices
Right now we can find the Huawei P40 Lite E for 199 euros , the same price as the P30 Lite is at the moment. Visas the differences in sections as key as the processor, the cameras or the battery, it is possible that many users opt for the new P40 Lite E.
