Our phones may suffer different problems unexpectedly and one with which we have found more in Huawei is when the keyboard does not appear . This problem can come for several reasons and we will try to find the solution that allows us to retype on our keyboard without problems.
No matter the model, if we have a mid-range or high-end mobile, this problem can affect all users equally and the solutions are always the same. Follow each of the steps below to solve the problem.
The simplest solution is usually effective
In many cases we get too complicated thinking about a solution that allows us in this case to recover the keyboard of our mobile, when a simple restart can make us recover it. This solution may not be durable, but it will allow us to at least use our mobile without complications to change it for another keyboard, as we will explain later.
Update apps and your mobile
It is important to keep our mobile updated, so the first check we should do if the keyboard does not appear on our Huawei mobile is to go to Settings> System> Updates the system and check if we have any available. Only by installing the problem could it be solved forever.
Another check we must do is in Google Play, to check if our keyboard has undergone an update that will free us from the error. To do this, we enter Google Play, tap on the menu and then My applications , check and click on update on our available keyboards, recommending doing the same with the rest.

To use the keyboard again, if none of the above has worked, we will have to go to Settings> Applications and Search SwiftKey , the default keyboard of Huawei phones. We enter this, click on clear cache and storage, confined that it is a punctual error and everything works again.
After this we try to access an application that needs the keyboard and type, to check if with these steps the problem is solved. In case it does not appear, we can touch on the button in the lower right to remove the keyboard or change it by some alternative method.
Change the keyboard on Huawei
In case this problem is still present, we can resort to changing the keyboard. To change the keyboard on Huawei phones we have to look for an alternative, for example, Google Gboard. We just have to download it from the Google app store and follow the steps once we open it for the first time.
Otherwise we can enter Settings> System> Language and Text Entry. In this section we change the default keyboard option between SwiftKey for Gboard.
Can’t you enter the mobile phone without a keyboard?
Although it is not very common, it may be the case that our mobile phone is locked and we cannot enter the password if the keyboard does not appear. We can try to locate an OTG adapter at home, which we will enter in the charging port of our mobile and then connect a USB keyboard, once we enter the password, you can try some of the solutions that we have shown you before.
Do a Hard Reset if nothing has worked
After having tried all the solutions that we show you, we only have to resort to a Hard Reset on our Huawei mobile with which we will return it to the factory state . To do this we first have to save in an alternative place all our photos, videos and files that we do not want to lose.
Then we will have to press the volume up and on keys at the same time , until we see the Huawei logo. Then, by moving with the volume keys we move on to “Delete data / restore factory values”, we accept with the Power button. In the next step we will enter “Yes” and finally “Delete data / reset factory values.” When the process is over we will have to configure our mobile as the first day and the keyboard will be available again.
