Huawei Mate X2: Images of Its Design Similar to the Galaxy Z Fold2

Huawei was, together with Samsung, the first companies to launch into the folding mobile market. The Chinese company has put both the first Mate X and the Mate XS into circulation, as its first bets in this regard. After the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 by Samsung, we are still waiting for Huawei’s move with the more than rumored Mate X2.

Huawei’s first two bets are different from Samsung’s concept, since the two Mate Xs have an outward-folding design, that is, the screen is on the outside when the device is folded. The two mobiles offer an 8-inch screen. However, Huawei’s next foldable, known as the Mate X2, could be folded inward, much in the style of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, the latest model from the Koreans.

Upgraded and with periscope camera

It has been a new Huawei patent, filed at the CNIPA (National Intellectual Property Office of China) and collected by the LetsGoDigital medium, it shows this design, with a periscope camera and a double camera for selfies . The designs that accompany the patent show a large screen that covers the entire front and the aforementioned double-perforated selfie camera reminiscent of the Huawei P40 Pro Plus.

The rear camera system appears to show five sensors , in the upper left corner, with a rectangular-shaped sensor, indicating that we are looking at a periscope sensor. The terminal appears thinner at the bottom than at the top, so the camera system protrudes less from its frame. Huawei also adopts a new, more advanced hinge system , which hides similarly to the Galaxy Z Fold2 when opened. Other possible designs seen previously, revealed the possible existence of a Stylus, which is not present in this patent.

Its going to market

Although we are facing a patent and the final design could differ, the changes and the appearance of being a more modern terminal are enough, like finishing a good part of the final Mate X2. It also seems clear that it will be a 5G device, since we remember that the Mate X was the first 5G foldable on the market . Its launch is a mystery, since the continuous problems with the United States may have also reduced the production rate of this terminal, whose launch could be delayed even until 2021.
