Disney + has entered strongly, becoming one of the most popular streaming platforms in our country. However, despite the extensive content it has, there are many devices that cannot enjoy it due to incompatibilities. The Disney + addon for Kodi solves many of those problems, being able to integrate the Disney platform into our player.
There are many Android players that do not allow you to install the Disney + application because it does not appear in the Google Play Store, and even if we install the APK, the app does not work. The key is in the hardware certification that Disney + requires to function, and if it is not compatible, we receive the error “Your device is not compatible with this version.”
Therefore, if you want to see content from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars or National Geographic and you have compatibility problems, the Disney + Kodi addon allows you to use your account to view the content without problems. The addon was developed by Matt Huisman, and its development has been possible thanks to the support of Widevine DRM that includes Kodi through the InputStream module.
The Disney + addon allows you to see all the content on the platform, as well as having support for stereo or 5.1 Dolby Digital audio, being able to choose the audio language or subtitles you want. Of course, the image quality is limited to 720p, the same as from a web browser, due to the restrictions of Widevine L3.
How to install Disney + addon on Kodi
The first thing we have to do is go to System> File Explorer> Add Source. Once we are there, we hit <None> and type http://k.slyguy.xyz to later hit OK. Once we have it, we put below the name .slyguy. and we give OK.
Now, we go to the Home, click on Add-ons and we will enter the Add-ons browser. There, we go to the option to Install from a .zip file, for which it is necessary to have the installation activated from unknown sources. Once we give it, the repository will appear to the slyguy link if we have put it correctly before, remaining as in the following image:
Once we have the SlyGuy repository installed, we are going to Install from repository> SlyGuy Repository> Video Add-onds> Disney +> Install. We will be asked to install other additional addons, and we accept. From now on, we will already have the addon installed on our Kodi.
Now we only have two things to do. The first is to install the add-on that allows us to view content with Widevine. To do this, we open the new Disney + add-on and go to Settings. There we go to the Playback section and click on Install Widevine CDM, where we will be asked to install the InputStream Adaptive. We select the latest version, and click on continue. Once installed, we will have to restart Kodi.
Finally, after restarting the player, we go to the Login tab, and enter our username and password. With this, we will already have access to the entire Disney + catalog.
