How to Use Facebook’s New Sound Emojis

Facebook Soundmojis

Years ago, text messages or SMS and some very basic chats through those first internet connections were the only options available to communicate in writing. The same is not happening today, there are more solutions and also possibilities. So many that you can even communicate based on gifs and emoticons that even offer animations. But, did you know that there are also the Soundmojis. Well, we are going to explain how to use them on Facebook.

What are Facebook Messenger soundmojis?

When you talk to someone through any messaging application and use punctuation marks and letters to show you a smiley face (: D), that starts laughing (xD) or sticks out your tongue (: P) you can say that It is someone who has been on the internet for many years or is a lover of the old.

Because today using that way of representing various states is obsolete. Now there are the emoticons and within this category that we could consider as general are the Animojis (animated Emojis) and even the Soundmojis (Emojis with sounds). Not counting the gifs or even the use of images in meme format that are perfectly worth to maintain a conversation only based on them.

Well, emojis with sounds have been the last to arrive and they did it hand in hand with Facebook. The reason? Well, as commented during his presentation, every day Facebook Messenger users send more than 2,400 million emojis . And the truth is that they even seem few. Because you just have to look at yourself to see that it is very common to turn to them when we talk to another person through messaging applications.

Because messaging apps are text-based, not being able to have a reference to the tone in which things are said can lead to misunderstandings. For example, a simple “must do this” may sound like one more request to be taken into account or like an order that if you skip it could lead to some kind of conflict.

For this reason and for other situations where you want to show that what you are saying is humorous or serious, adding an emoticon helps. But Facebook was not happy with just seeing a graphic image or, at best, one with a small animation. So he created the Soundmojis, emoticons with sounds.

These sound emojis include a sound related to what they represent. So, if you send a hand touching the palms you will also hear the sound that they would make. Or if it is a symbol of stop, then an audio so that it is clear what the action is. And likewise the drum emoji, the ghost icon, etc. All of them sounds easy to identify with pop culture.

In short, a way of making written communication something more interactive and “special”. Although for those to whom the sounds do not attract us, these options will be of more. But that will be the case for some, others will wish they could use them on a daily basis.

How to use the Soundmojis

To begin with, you have to know that the Soundmojis are available for now only for Facebook Messenger . Although Facebook already uses and shares many functions between its main messaging systems (Facebook Messenger, Instagram messages and WhatsApp), for now it is only in the messaging app of the popular social network Facebook.

However, it may not take long for them to appear in other apps. So you have to be vigilant for when that happens. In case you want said conversations in those apps to gain that extra sound.

Now how do Soundmojis work? Well, it is very simple, the first thing you should do is go to the Facebook Messenger application. Once you are inside the app, touch on the chat where you want to use them. If you don’t have any, then have a new conversation with that contact you want to chat with.

Within the chat, touch the emoji face as you would normally to send one of these graphic elements. Before continuing, tap on the speaker icon and that’s where you can find the Soundmojis that are available right now. Because that you should be clear about, not all emojis include sounds.

There are only about 30 that Facebook has decided to offer with sounds, because the idea is that they are related to what they represent and are easy to understand for the user who receives them. It’s not about adding random sounds.

So ready, as you can see the use of these emojis with sounds is very simple because you just have to choose the one you want to use and that’s it. When the other person receives them and opens the app, they will not only see the possible animation it may have, the sound associated with it will also be played.

If you send a clapping emoji, it will be a pain to touch your palms. And the same with smiley faces, etc. But be careful where you are and the volume of your device. Because it is still fun for you to make use of this type of emojis, but for other users or people who are by your side it could be the opposite, something annoying that they have no need to “suffer”.

Soundmojis, a feature that will come to everyone

The new Facebook Messenger may end up becoming a bad idea, that will have to be assessed by each one, although at the moment not everyone may have this new option available. If that happens you will have to have a little patience because the update and activation of the Soundmojis will be done in a staggered way. So if it doesn’t appear first, don’t worry.
