Simple Steps to Password Protect a Chat
To lock a chat in WhatsApp, follow these simple steps:
- Open WhatsApp: On your smartphone go to the app.
- Select a Chat: Simply tap the chat you need to lock.
- Access Options: Go to the upper right corner and click the three dots.
- Restrict Chat: From where we can see dropdown Restrict chat.

Important Things to Remember
- Restricted Chats Section: Restricted Chats consist of locked chats found only while unlocking.
- Smartphone Only: The mobile version of WhatsApp is the only place at which you can benefit from this feature. As of now locked chats are not supported in desktop version.
