TikTok Notifications
When you sign up for a new social network through a mobile app, it will most likely come with a series of default notifications. Sometimes they are just necessary to be informed of what you want about the platform, however, at other times, there is an oversaturation of information that you do not know how to contain so that it stops appearing on the screen.
This is exactly what happens with TikTok: when you create a user in their app, an endless number of alerts are automatically activated on the phone that can get quite overwhelming and that sometimes one does not know how to eliminate. The social network alerts you of all possible interactions with your profile, of updates to the videos that are published (including suggestions that you may like) and even of the streaming that is made.
Types of notifications offered by TikTok
We list and briefly explain the types of notices you can receive from the social network application:
Interactions:
- I like : the I like that you receive from the people who see your content.
- Comments: the public messages (comments) that users leave on your posts.
- New Followers : As the name suggests, it alerts you every time someone new starts to follow you.
- Mentions: If someone mentions you with your username, you receive a notice.
Messages:
- Direct messages: These are the private messages you receive from someone. If a contact writes to you, you will see a warning on the screen.
Video updates
- Video of accounts you follow : they notify you when new content has been uploaded in all the accounts you follow.
- Video suggestions : one of the most annoying. These are notifications from the social network itself with video suggestions that they think you will like for you to enter and see them.
LIVE
- Live broadcast of the accounts you follow : it has little mystery. You receive an alert when one of your contacts decides to make a live video on TikTok .
All of them, as we indicated, are activated by default so that shortly after starting to use the app, you will find many notices that perhaps you would not like to have. Do you want to delete some of them? It is very simple just by accessing the preferences of the app (either on Android or iOS).
How to handle TikTok notifications
As we pointed out, managing the notifications of the application is something quite simple that you only require a few taps on the correct options. We detail the steps to follow, applicable both from the application for Android phones and on iPhone / iPad:
- Open the application and go to your profile icon, where it says “I”.
- Once in your panel, tap on the three dots in the upper right corner. The Privacy and settings menu will open.
- In the General section (the second) tap on “Push notifications”
- All the notifications that we have described above activated by default will appear. It’s time to “turn off” the ones you don’t want to have.
- Ready. You just have to go back to continue using your app. Deactivation is instantaneous.
This way you can receive only the notifications that interest you and discard all the notifications you don’t want to see related to the TikTok app.
