We have already seen on occasion how a mobile can be paired to a PS5 or Xbox, and the truth is that we also find the possibility of doing the same with a Nintendo console. What we will need is to follow a series of steps, which we will explain in detail, in addition to the fact that it will be important to know what it will do for us and if it will really be as useful as we think.

More than anything, because each of these utilities will have a series of different steps. So that you do not have any type of unforeseen event, we will tell you everything you will have to do from your mobile and the Nintendo Switch at all times.

We start with one of the great benefits of connecting a Nintendo Switch to a mobile . Basically, because we will be able to have Internet on the console anywhere, even if we do not have a Wi-Fi connection. Of course, we have already warned you that we will need to have the data of our active rate, and that it will be consumed to a great extent. So we advise you to do it if you have an unlimited data plan on your phone.
The first thing we must do in the case of an Android mobile is to go directly to the smartphone settings. Once inside, we will enter the Networks and Internet section, then we will click on the tab called My Wi-Fi Zone and Share connection (these steps may vary depending on the customization layer of each manufacturer).
Once inside, we must enable the Wi-Fi zone . In this menu, we can change the name of the access point, in addition to the password. After having configured these sections, we will have to go to the settings of the Nintendo Switch > Internet . From here, the connection of our phone should appear. So it will be as simple as putting the key and connecting.
In the case of iPhones, we must go to Settings> activate mobile data > enter the Personal Access Point tab> enable the option Allow others to connect (with this function we will let other devices that have not logged in to our iCloud connect). Then, we must follow the same steps as before: go to the Nintendo settings> Internet> search for the phone’s network> enter the password and establish the connection.
From that moment, we will already have Internet on the console to be able to start online anywhere.
A mobile like Joy-Con
To be able to use a smartphone as a controller for the Nintendo Switch , the truth is that the steps will not be as simple as the other cases. Basically, because we will need to use a third party application, namely JoyCon Droid. A while ago, it was available from the Google Play store, but it is no longer there. Therefore, you must download it from an apk file website. Also, in this case, we can only get it from Android phones.
But, to achieve this, we must give our mobile the necessary permissions so that it can install external files. If you don’t know how to do it, you will have to go to Settings> Apps and notifications> Special access> Install unknown apps. Once inside, click on the search engine that you normally use on your smartphone and choose the Allowed option. Then, you must click on this link on the Malavida website > Download > Accept.
We already warned you that all those who have updated the Nintendo Switch to a higher version 12.0.0, you must have a rooted mobile for it to work. IF not, we can connect both devices as follows.
Open JoyCon Droid on your smartphone and give it permission to put Bluetooth into discovery mode. Choose which command you want to ‘simulate’ from the terminal. You can choose: the left, right or the Nintendo Pro Controller. Then, click on ‘Later’ > we will see the visual interface of the controller we have chosen.
Now, inside the Nintendo Switch, press the control icon. Then tap on the ‘Change order or holding mode’ option. At that moment, the Nintendo will ask us to press different keys of the supposed control that we will see on the phone screen.
To share screenshots
Unlike the previous method, this time we are facing a fairly simple process that will only take a minute or less, especially when we get practice. In addition, it will be useful for both Android and iPhone users .
The first thing we will have to do is go to the home screen of the Nintendo console > click on the Album option > select the capture you want with the ‘A’ button > press this key on the Switch again > access the menu Publish & Edit > tap Send to Smart Device. From here, you can also choose whether you want to send just one image or multiple screenshots. After this, a QR code will appear that we must scan with the smartphone camera.
Doing so will automatically connect your phone to the console. But, we will have to scan the QR a second time, in this way we will enter a web so that we can download the image in the terminal reel.
