In the history of Windows explorer we are storing all the searches we carry out with it and each time we start a new search it provides us with different suggestions that may coincide with our wishes.

Using keyboard shortcut
Another simple method of removing searches from Windows Explorer history is to use a shift + delete keyboard shortcut. To do this, access the File Explorer from any folder and click on the search bar. Type until a list of history results appears. With the cursor keys scroll to the result you want to delete and press shift + delete. In this way, the result you have indicated will be removed from the history. It is a useful method if instead of deleting all the history at once we want to delete specific results or searches.
From the Windows registry
It is also possible to make a small change in the Windows registry to reset the history of File Explorer. We remember that we must be careful when making modifications in the editor since a bad manipulation can affect the operating system. In order to access the registry, we will press the Windows + R keyboard shortcut to open the “Run” window. Here we will type “regedit” and press the Enter key.
Once the registry editor is open, we must access the following location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Explorer WordWheelQuery
Here we must mark the “WordWheelQuery” folder to delete it by pressing the delete key on the keyboard, or by right-clicking and selecting Delete.
Subsequently, we press the button combination of ctrl + alt + delete to access the Task Manager . Here, we locate the “Processes” tab, and look for Windows Explorer. We select it and click on the “Restart” button at the bottom right. In this way, the history of Windows Explorer will be erased.
