It is probably one of the activities that is attracting the most attention among gamers, so you are possibly thinking of giving life to a new channel on which to broadcast your games. Why broadcast from the console?
Most streamers use computers to send the image of the console to the Twitch servers, but the truth is that, if you are going to start, the easiest and most comfortable option is to do it from the console. It is true that you will not be able to apply adjustments, effects, transitions and many other functions that make the broadcasts more attractive and different, but if what you want is to start and make yourself known, nothing better than starting from the beginning.
What do you need
This is all you need so that your broadcast can be done from a PS5 and you can have everything controlled to the millimeter:
- A Twitch account
- Have two-step authentication enabled
- An HD Camera for PlayStation 5
- A phone or tablet with the Twitch app
The HD camera will not be mandatory, but it will help viewers see you, and thus be able to connect much better with your audience. The phone or tablet with the Twitch application is also optional, but from there you can comfortably read what is happening in the chat, without being forced to show it on the screen while you are playing.
How does it work
The idea is that you log in with your Twitch account on your PS5 and just have to press the create button on the DualSense controller so that the broadcast begins within a few seconds. You can send the signal from your webcam so that your public can see you, and meanwhile, check the comment chat through your mobile phone.
How to set everything
- The first thing you will have to do is create an account on Twitch. If at this point you still do not have it, you only have to go to the official website of the service and complete the steps until you get your new user .
- Once you have the account, you will need to activate two-step authentication . To do so, follow the link below and complete the steps. You will have to specify a mobile number and configure an authentication application such as Google Authenticator.
- With the first two steps complete, it’s time to link your Twitch account on your PS5. The easiest way to do this is to press the Create button (the one on the left next to the control cross) and select the Transmit option.
- When you press it, you will see that you have two options available, Twitch and YouTube. In this case we will focus on Twitch. Press to start setup.
- The next screen will allow you to link your console to your Twitch profile. Instead of having to enter the name and password in the console (something annoying and slow), you will have to open a browser on your computer or mobile device and access the address twitch.com/activate
- On this website you will have to log in with your account (you are probably already using your username if you had previously logged in on that computer), and then enter the code that is being displayed on your PlayStation 5. Enter it as is and without spaces.
- When you have entered it, the web will ask you to accept the privacy conditions and your console will immediately have detected your profile. Now you can close the browser on your computer or mobile.
How to broadcast live from PlayStation 5
With the account already configured it is time to press the broadcast button, but first you have to configure some details. In the broadcast options you can define some values such as the activation of the HD camera, include voice chat from the microphone, show the broadcast chat, show the number of people connected, change the position of the elements on the screen and adjust the video quality, which can be 1080P or 720P, both options being able to broadcast at 60 and 30 images per second.
Once you have reviewed the settings, you only have to set a name for the broadcast (it is the one that will appear on your Twitch channel) and press the Enter Live button so that everything starts working immediately.
