There is no doubt that the browser is a fundamental piece for our day to day. It is the tool we use to connect to the Internet, search for information, use multiple services … However, it must be borne in mind that it is also an important focus of malware and multiple attacks.

Hackers set their sights on what is most used by users. Browsers, logically, are an important part. Some browsers are even based on privacy and security to avoid any inconvenience.

Through the browser they could collect information from users . A lot of data can leak and put your privacy at risk. Therefore it is interesting to make use of tools or even functions that they can offer us. An example is when browsing and avoiding leaving a trace as our user, is browsing in private or guest mode.

Chrome has now introduced the ability to always enter guest mode. In this way, every time we navigate through this tool, our personal information will not be registered in the normal way as if we were browsing in the common way.

How to enable guest mode in Chrome by default

Activating the guest mode in Google Chrome by default and starting it every time we open the application is easy. You just have to follow a series of steps that we are going to explain.

We have to close Google Chrome if we have it open. Later we go to the direct access, we right-click with the mouse, we enter Properties and in the Destination section we must add, at the end, Chrome.exe –guest . We have to accept.

The next time we open the browser we will see that it starts in guest mode. Our user will not appear, nor will any bookmark that we have saved or the history.

As we can see, it is a simple and fast process. We can also start in guest mode manually without having to do this, but in this way we will always start automatically as well.

Why the Guest Mode Is Interesting

The guest mode will not save any type of information from our navigation. This means that it will not register the web pages that the user visits, no targeted advertising will appear according to the searches we carry out, for example. Nor will we be able to access the previous browsing history or the bookmarks that we have saved.

This is interesting if we are going to share the computer with other users. In this way, those guests (hence the term) will not have access to all the content we have. It is ideal if we are going to lend the computer to someone and we do not want them to enter our history, access the saved bookmarks, etc.

It differs from private mode . Keep in mind that although private mode also does not store this information that we mentioned, we can access the previous history or the bookmarks that we have saved. Therefore we can say that the guest mode is different from the private mode, although at times it is similar.

Of course, it should be mentioned that the guest mode does not provide security beyond preventing personal or browsing information from being stored. This means that it will not protect our system if we enter a fraudulent page and download a malicious file, for example. Rather, it provides privacy, but it will not protect us.
