With the different versions of ColorOS that have been launched for the brand’s mobiles, this private space has evolved. In old versions we can find it identified as ” Private System “, while in the latest versions, based on Android 10 and Android 11, it is called ” Safe “.
Be that as it may, this is the option you must configure to protect your most intimate and private files from third parties.
What is OPPO’s private system?
ColorOS is not only evolving to allow users to work with a faster and smoother user interface, but it also promises the security measures that should be mandatory on our smartphones. In the digital age, trustworthy protection is key and ColorOS offers different ways to keep our content safe.
OPPO’s Private System / Safe One ColorOS hack offering is exactly what it sounds like: a hidden place in the recesses of signature operating system settings designed for files you want to keep away from prying eyes. These can be photos, videos, audio files, documents, or any other file.
It depends on how you set it up, they won’t be accessible anywhere on the phone other than through the password-protected app. Best of all, it is a type of protection that not only keeps our photos, videos, documents and other data safe and away from prying eyes, but also blocks other applications from accessing them. In this way, if we unknowingly discard a malicious app, we can be sure that they will not be able to find the files stored in the phone’s safe.
This should not be confused with App Lock, a function that does not prevent access, but rather serves to completely lock certain applications with an access code or fingerprint.
How is the ColorOS safe enabled?
The Safe of your OPPO mobile is, how could it be otherwise, in the Privacy section that you can find when you open the settings menu of the smartphone. This is where you should choose the Safe option.

Once the private safe has been activated, you will need to set a security password. There are four different types of password: pattern, 4-digit password, alphanumeric password, etc… We will also be encouraged to include a security question to be able to recover this password in case we forget it.

Hiding them will depend on the type and format. So, for example, if you want to save photos and videos in the Safe of your OPPO smartphone, you should go to the gallery and, or keep your finger pressed and select all those files you want to, below, mark “Make private”, or enter each photo / video individually to, by pressing the “More” icon at the bottom right, select “Make Private”.
In the case of voice notes, documents and other files we will have to use another ColorOS app, the file explorer. As soon as you enter it, you will see the different types of content that you can save in OPPO’s private system and the process is similar to the one we have followed a few lines earlier to hide photos and videos on smartphones of the Chinese brand. simply hold down on the file you want, click on the “more” icon and, finally, choose the option “Set as private”.
Create a shortcut on the desktop
You can also add the direct access to the private space of the mobile from the home screen. The only disadvantage is that whoever picks up the mobile will see that you are hiding something but, in the same way as from the mobile’s own settings, they will not be able to access it if they do not know your password or have your fingerprint.
To enable direct access to the ColorOS Safe you must open the Settings menu, go to Privacy, enter Safe and click on the vertical dots in the upper right corner. Here you can access the Safe Settings and enable the Shortcut to the home screen at the bottom.
How do I locate the files in the OPPO safe?
As you may have guessed, the only way to find these files that you have made private again is to access the Safe . If you have created a direct access to this private system on the desktop of your smartphone, simply click on the icon, enter the access credentials and access the category of the file you are looking for
If you have not created a shortcut, you must access the Safe from the Privacy menu of the mobile Settings and enter the access password.
How do I get files from the Safe?
The easiest step in this entire tutorial. To see these files again in their original locations, simply open them and, at the bottom of the screen, click on the icon identified with an open lock to make them “public” again.
