Headphones Not Included with the iPhone 12, is it Confirmed?

Less and less is missing for the iPhone 12 to materialize officially, leaving behind theories, rumors and leaks. Although until then, data will continue to emerge that will let us know the details of these devices beforehand and in the last hours it has been possible to discover a part of the code of iOS 14.2 (version that is in beta) and that could serve as confirmation that the new smartphones they won’t bring the classic EarPods headphones with them.

No charging adapter or headphones with iPhone 12

“The iPhone 12 will not have a charger” was probably one of the most repeated phrases in the headlines of the specialized press a few months ago, when it was leaked that Apple would change the accessories included with its new smartphones. If they will bring cable and in fact it is expected to be a new braided cable with Lightning and USB-C connection. What they will not have will be the charging adapter, neither the classic 5w nor the 18w released with the iPhone 11 Pro. And to this will also be added the absence of the EarPods, the classic Apple headphones with Lightning connection that until now they have always been included with the device.

Headphones Not Included with the iPhone 12

In MacRumors they have noticed a detail in the wording of the iPhone settings text in the beta 2 of iOS 14.2. In previous versions of iOS 14 and even iOS 13, a classic text is maintained in which one speaks of “supplied headphones” when it comes to reducing exposure to radio frequency energy. However, in the version that is still in beta only “headphones” is mentioned, leaving aside the part where it is assumed that Apple supplies the EarPods in the device box. Obviously this is a small detail, but it is still significant that it is changed when it is rumored that these headphones will be eliminated, so we can practically assume that this is the reason for the change.

A very controversial decision

Already the Apple Watch Series 6 has stopped including a power adapter for charging, which has continued to fuel the idea that the new iPhone also eliminate accessories of this type. In fact, it has been a good breeding ground for thousands of comments on networks and forums that have branded Apple a scam and similar things. The company hides behind environmental causes for the elimination of these accessories, in addition to intuiting that a good part of the buyers will have accessories with which to cover this absence. However, what angers users the most is the intuition that the price will not change despite the fact that the company will save on production costs.

In any case, despite the fact that this more than a rumor is almost a reality, we will have to wait for the Cupertino company to officially present its devices. Only then will we be able to know all the details of what is included in your box, perhaps having an explanation about the reason why certain accessories are no longer included. However, they could take it as a “silent” movement and explain nothing, something that happened recently with the elimination of the 3.5mm jack adapter to Lightning. Be that as it may, the controversy is served.
