Like every year, Apple devices will receive an update on the popular emojis. Some of them were shown for several months and at that time the end of this year was marked as a foreseeable date. They will arrive in iOS 14.1 or iOS 14.2
Currently the latest version of iOS available is iOS 14.0.1, however we already have iOS 14.2 betas . This jump to version .2 instead of .1 was curious, and this probably won’t end up being the definitive nomenclature of this version. Apple probably made this name change to ensure that no pre-release version would be released to fix bugs, something it did previously. Therefore, it is very likely that it ends up calling iOS 14.1 and is the one that brings the emojis. Unless there is something unforeseen, it will also be the next version of software that reaches the iPhone. If iOS 14.0.2 came out in between, this would only be to correct problems and would not include changes like the one we mentioned in any case.
Emojis will reach more operating systems
Using emojis on a Mac has been possible for several years, as is iPad and even Apple Watch with the on-screen keyboard.
