Google Chrome is terrible, and I did not understand it until I stopped using it

Like most, throughout my life I have used more than one browser to access the Internet. Like many, I started with Internet Explorer , when there was practically no other choice. I’ve used Firefox and Google Chrome , until Brave came along, which I installed for the cryptocurrencies, but now I use it for other reasons.

Currently, the most widely used browser in the world (except for some countries) is Google Chrome. It is a very good browser, but it has a huge problem, it consumes an absurd amount of RAM memory. And it is the biggest complaint that everyone has, the consumption of RAM, something that Brave solves.

I came to Brave for crypto and found gold

There are several problems with Google Chrome , the most obvious being the high consumption of RAM . This makes if you have a team just in this sense, you end up having a pretty bad time. In addition, it has other small drawbacks such as low privacy, having to use AdBlocks through an extension, among others.

Due to the high consumption of RAM memory, mainly, look for an alternative in Firefox. Although it worked quite well, I didn’t like it in certain aspects, so I decided to go back and continue using Chrome. This meant that over 90% of my computer’s RAM was being used by this browser.

The release of Brave interested me quite a bit at first, but I didn’t use it right away. I allowed some time to pass with the intention of correcting possible initial failures. After a few months I installed it and started using it. The main idea of using it was to increase privacy and also earn some tokens that are given to you for using the browser.

Although it arrives with a specific intention, from the first moment I noticed important improvements. The first thing I noticed was a decrease in the consumption of RAM by 1 GB, which is a lot. I did different tests and even with more tabs open in Brave than in Chrome, the RAM consumption was lower. Most interesting of all, Brave is based on Chromium , the open source code that Google Chrome is built on.

Many advantages beyond getting some tokens

Brave natively integrates a very powerful AdBlocker system that limits advertising when browsing. It also has a third-party tracker restriction system. The new tabs menu is also very interesting where we can insert the websites that we use most often and have them easily accessible. It integrates access to the Tor network to browse with more privacy, which is great. It also integrates its own VPN system to protect us when we connect to an unknown WiFi.

Something very interesting is that we can use DuckDuckGo as a native search engine (we can also use it in Chrome), among others that have tracking restrictions. We also have a huge number of privacy and security settings when we browse.

One of the last quite useful features built into Brave is Talks, a solution that wants to compete with Google Meet and Zoom. It is the own video call tool that offers encrypted chats and without data collection.
