What is Xbox Series FPS Boost

FPS Boost: the New Xbox Series Option

Microsoft has released a new feature that users of an Xbox Series X and S will be able to start enjoying practically now, although at the moment only in four titles. This is FPS Boost and it is a way that the company has managed to double the number of frames per second at which games are run .

How it is done is not easy to explain, but the idea is quickly understood. What FPS Boost does is cheat Direct3D as to the speed at which data is sent to it. So if a game was previously locked to not exceed 30fps, now it will believe that there is no restriction whatsoever and will start displaying 60fps. Therefore, the fluidity and smoothness in the execution will increase considerably.

What’s more, the good thing is that this new option not only allows you to go from 30 to 60, but also from 60 to 120 and here you can see even more the improvement in the gaming experience, as is already the case with the new titles released for new consoles. Which translates into an experience that if you have already tried playing at more than the usual 30 fps, it is very noticeable and appreciated.

At the moment the games that will be compatible with FPS Boost are five. There are For Cry 4, Watch Dogs 2, UFC 4, Sniper Elite 4, and New Super Lucky’s. The latter will be one of those that improve much more to reach those 120 fps.
