Fast charging has become one of the most important battlefields in mobile telephony. With this technology it is possible to have a much faster charge and considerably reduces the time that a mobile is connected to the socket. It has largely been Chinese manufacturers that have developed increasingly powerful fast-charging technologies. At this point, today you can charge a high-end smartphone with a large battery in less than half an hour. Xiaomi‘s Mi 10 Ultra is a terminal that integrates a 120W charger in the box , so it can charge its 4,500 mAh in about 22 minutes, which still leaves us speechless. In addition, it seems that its evolution does not seem to have limits, despite the fact that the race is different depending on the manufacturer.
Fast chargers on mobiles
In this sense, manufacturers may or may not include the fast charger in the sales package . But even if it is not included as standard, the maximum charge capacity of our telephoto can be taken advantage of by buying a fast charger for this purpose. The manufacturer will offer it as a separate accessory if it does not include it, but we will also have third-party options that will be valid and with which we can take advantage of the maximum load capacity.
The iPhone fast charger
It was with the iPhone 8 at the end of 2017 when Samsung adopted the USB Power Delivery standard, present since then including the iPhone 12. However, the iPhone 12 does not integrate the fast charger in the box, selling the 20W adapter separately. The million dollar question is whether the adapter can be used with other mobiles as long as the cable is changed and obtain the same performance . The answer is yes.
The fast charger of the Samsung Galaxy
Samsung has also offered different fast charging standards in the past. It has now adopted the USB Power Delivery standard with the Galaxy S20 and Note 10 series. Interestingly, the Galaxy S21s don’t support the 45W charging speed that came with the Galaxy Note 10s, but they still support 25W charging. The previous generation (the Galaxy S10s) were compatible with Qualcomm’s 15W Quick Charge 2.0 chargers.
The fast charger of the Xiaomi and Redmi
The Chinese company has raised the bar with a 120W fast charger present in the box. This charger is also compatible with Quick Charge 4.0 and Power Delivery 3.0 standards. At the moment, Xiaomi has not brought this charging capacity to Europe. More recently, the Black Shark 4 also integrates a 120W fast charger.
The fast charger of the Huawei
Huawei uses its own proprietary solution called SuperCharge. The company has been very innovative in this regard and it was in 2018, when the Huawei Mate 20 Pro integrated a 40W charger. Before, the P20 Pro already had a 222.5W charger. Most current phones like the Huawei Mate XS integrate a 65W charger in the box.
The fast charger of OPPO and Realme
We are facing two companies that drink from the same matrix, whose R&D department is far ahead of many of its rivals in fast charging technology. The OPPO Ace Reno was the first phone on the market to integrate a charger with a 65W charge, which can charge 70% in just 15 minutes. Terminals like the Realme X50 Pro have integrated this same charge, also present in the new OPPO Find X3 Pro.
