Without a doubt, one of the things that generates the most curiosity in human beings is marine exploration. At the bottom of the ocean you can find everything, even underwater cables that help communications. There are various places around the world where there are a large number of places to dive and observe the different animals and plants that are in those areas. You can even be close to sharks thanks to metal cages that are submerged on the surface. In Germany there is an underwater “elevator” that will allow those who are inside to see all the fish and plants of that place.
This capsule is located in the northeast of the German country and is in the Baltic Sea. It offers a unique experience, without the need to get wet or rent something more expensive to observe the seabed.

A neat and safe structure
It has a bell shape and is capable of diving to the bottom, which, in this case, in the area where it is located there is a depth of a couple of meters.
It has two engines that are responsible for driving the entire infrastructure under water. It weighs a total of 50 tons , but needs a lot of power since when submerged it displaces an amount of water equivalent to 100 tons. In addition, it can float just like any ship.
This structure is a tourist attraction in the area and it is an engineering feat that has been created by many people that has all the necessary security systems.
As it is an “elevator” that has modern technology, its security measures in case of a leak or prevent people from being trapped inside are also.

The system has an emergency brake mechanism that means that the capsule can return to the surface in a few seconds in case of any unforeseen event that may arise. Its interior has a couple of ventilation systems that keep the interior of the capsule ventilated at all times with fresh air.
Each of the crystals that are available to observe the seabed is six centimeters thick, also made of a safe and resistant material.
More countries want to implement it
However, it may be that many of the people who want to try this experience are disappointed since they still expect to see something and in the end they do not see anything , either because of the dirt in the water or because at that moment no fish makes an appearance.

In fact, when this happens there is a system that what it does is close the windows and emit a 3D tape for the crew to see.
Some countries like Turkey and Malta are planning to introduce this underwater “elevator” system in the future. However, each of these structures must be adapted to the needs of each terrain, so if new models are built in other areas in the world they do not have to be exactly the same as the one in Germany.
