If you use Gmail , then you will know that Google’s email service allows us to cancel a delivery for a few seconds after clicking the Send button. In this way, if as soon as we send an email message we realize that we are sending it to the wrong person, we will have the opportunity to cancel the delivery. Increase time to cancel

Luckily, Gmail allows us to extend the time we have to cancel sending a message. These are the steps to follow to extend the time that Gmail offers us to cancel sending a message. The steps we must take are:
- We enter our Gmail account
- Click on the gear icon to access the settings
- We select the General tab
- Look for the Shipment Cancellation Period setting
- We display the option and choose between 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds
- We scroll down and click on the Save changes button
Therefore, the first thing we have to do is go to Gmail to identify ourselves with our username . Once inside our email, we click on the gear icon to access the Gmail Settings and be able to make this adjustment. There, we must go to the General tab and look for the option called Undo sending , which is what allows us to indicate the time we will have to cancel sending an email message in Gmail after clicking on the Send button. By default we will see that Gmail offers a total of 5 seconds , but it is something that we can easily extend.
Specifically, for this, it is enough to display the Send cancellation period option that we find within the General tab in the Gmail configuration. There we will find the options 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds, so we can choose the one that best suits us and then click on the Save changes button that appears at the bottom of the tab.
Each of these options indicates the time that we will have to be able to cancel the sending of an email message in Gmail after having clicked on the Send button. From that moment on, after clicking on the Send message button, we will see how the Undo sending option appears at the bottom left of the Gmail interface. If we click on it before the seconds that we have configured elapse, the sending of the message will be cancelled.
Everything indicates, therefore, that if we choose the 30 seconds option, Gmail will allow us to cancel the sending of a message during the first 30 seconds after sending the message. However, it is important to note that this will be possible as long as the recipient has not already read the sent message. In this case, if the recipient has already read it, we will not be able to proceed with the cancellation.
What if I need more time?
Another option that you can use to be able to send your messages without fear of being wrong and with which you will have more time to cancel your shipments and it is not the undo option itself, although it is not the same, is the programming of the emails . It is a basic function of Gmail with which you can send your emails when you can or want so that they arrive when you indicate.
You can schedule a message to be sent an hour later or the next day or whenever you want, giving you plenty of time in case you messed up, something happens that changes everything, or you just want to review it. It is not a cancellation in itself , but rather that the message has actually been scheduled to be sent later, on the day and date you want.
