It was rumored that Apple could launch a new range of AirPods headphones to the market in the first half of the year, however it was known weeks ago that it would really be new Beats that would be announced. Lebron James was even seen with them before their release. However, it was yesterday when the Californian company, which has owned Beats since 2014, officially announced the Beats Studio Buds . We tell you below its main characteristics and price.
The range lost in Beats, to compete with the AirPods Pro?
Without further ado: these new headphones cost 149.95 euros . We see that it is not a precisely low price, but that in any case it falls within the market average. It is even priced cheaper than AirPods , whether they are the second generation or the ‘Pro’. Visually they are very different from them, in an in-ear format and available in three different colors such as white, black and red.
They come with a case in which you can recharge your battery, although it is surprising that in itself they are advertised with an autonomy of up to 8 hours uninterrupted that can reach 24 hours thanks to the extra charge of the aforementioned case. Case that, by the way, has a fast charging mode that gives 1 more hour of autonomy with only 5 minutes of charging.
The most striking thing about these headphones is their premium sound quality. We have not been able to test them yet, but Apple and Beats rate it that way and claim to have been able to maintain a powerful and balanced audio despite the small size of the headphones. They also incorporate the valued noise cancellation , being now the cheapest brand headphones that have this ability. This places them first in competition with the AirPods Pro, more if we count on the fact that these new ones cost 130 euros less.
Of course, they are not yet for sale , but it is reported that they will be available this summer . We don’t know exactly when it will be, but it probably won’t be too many weeks for this to happen. They will be available at any Apple Store in the world, as well as the company’s own online store or that of Beats by Dre. For now, you can configure a notice from the Beats website if you want to receive an email when they are already available. They will probably also end up in third-party stores.
Are there more headphones to present this 2021?
If we look only at Apple headphones (including this Beats brand), we could say yes. As is customary in the company led by Tim Cook, they do not officially advance anything, although several analysts have already released reports confirming the arrival of the third generation AirPods by the end of the year. The AirPods Pro 2 seem less likely, which places them already for 2022.
From that third version of basic AirPods, a redesign similar to that of the ‘Pro’ is expected, although without the need to use a pad and with some features cut like noise cancellation. Aspects of improvement or its price remain a mystery, so we will have to be attentive to new reports that shed more light on it before the company makes them official.
