There are several ways to change the appearance of an element in Windows
First of all, we should know that when trying to change the color of the task bar to which we refer, for Windows the Start menu, this bar and the Activity Center are a whole. In fact, these are the elements that users tend to like the most. But of course, when trying to change its appearance from Settings / Personalization / Colors, we will see that we have to change the tonality of the whole set.
In this way, we will immediately verify that Windows 10 treats these three elements as one, at least as far as this section is concerned. However this is going to be something we can modify. With this what we want to tell you is that we have the possibility, from the operating system itself, to modify the background color only from the taskbar as such.
Of course, the interesting thing about this trick is that the change that we are going to carry out here will not affect the other two components that we have talked about. The first thing we should know is that this is something that we are going to achieve using the system registry editor .
How to change only the color of the taskbar
Well, to access this section, we must type the command regedit, for example in the search box of the Start menu. Therefore, in the new window that appears, we must go to the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionthemesPersonalize.
Once in it, on the right side we will find an entry called ColorPrevalence , which is what interests us in this case. By double-clicking on it, we will see that its Value information is set to 0. So to carry out the color change independent of the taskbar, we modify its value, to 2.
Keep in mind that in this case it will not even be necessary to restart the computer, since the change is carried out automatically and in real time. In addition, as we have been commenting on you, this modification will not be extended to the Start menu , nor to the Activity Center, only to the taskbar.
