Comparison between OPPO Reno4 Pro and Realme X50 Pro

The high-end is increasingly at odds and this is partly because the manufacturers OPPO and Realme have come up with more than interesting options. This time we find the OPPO Reno4 Pro and the Realme X50 Pro , two smartphones that leave nothing on the way and that at a contained price offer us the best we could need in a smartphone.

There are many keys that we must look at when buying a new mobile, especially if it is a high-end. For that reason we are going to focus on each of its characteristics to let you know what each of them is better for and that you can make the best purchase possible without spending more than necessary, because in the end we will know their best offers.

High-level designs and displays

In both cases we are faced with two smartphones that show us a very current style with rear cameras in a vertical position and front cameras in the shape of a hole. Both include a clean practicing rear and pass the fingerprint reader to the screen, thus taking advantage of the Amoled technology of both panels. They are two phones made not the best of the best, in the case of the OPPO based on aluminum alloy to obtain a weight of 172 grams and the Realme X50 Pro is heavier and thicker at 205 grams that is made of polycarbonate and glass.

The screens are made to enjoy, in both cases created by Samsung but with different measurements. Slightly larger on the OPPO at 6.5 inches and 6.44 inches for the Realme X50 Pro. They share many features on the screen , from Full HD + resolution, 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch response rate, plus HDR10 + and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection but nevertheless the OPPO model has a curved screen and the Realme is more classic.

Which of the two is more powerful?

We can verify in their specifications that we are facing two authentic high-end that include Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and where the Realme X50 Pro is a little faster thanks to including the Snapdragon 865. On the other hand, inside the OPPO Reno4 Pro we come across the Snapdragon 765G , which has plenty of power to complete the most demanding processes and even play the games with better graphics.

In them we have the Adreno 620 GPUs for OPPO and the Adreno 650 in the Realme X50 Pro with different options. The Realme offers us a variety that starts at 8 GB of RAM + 128 or 256 GB and also another option with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB. OPPO on the contrary only has an option of 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of memory. In technologies, the Realme X50 Pro is more advanced by including UFS 3.0 memories and LPDDR5 RAM, something that we will notice slightly but must be mentioned. In neither case can we use external memory cards to expand storage.

Duel of cameras

We come to the cameras, a very important section when making our purchase decision and where the differences will again be key. In the first place we come across 48 Mpx and 64 Mpx main cameras respectively for OPPO and Realme, both with good aperture and which will offer us very similar results. The second of its lenses is the wide angle + macro where OPPO offers us 48 Mpx against Realme’s 8 Mpx. And we come to a key lens, because although both phones have a telephoto lens, the zoom of the Realme X50 Pro is more capable with 20 increases against the 5 increases of OPPO.

Finally Realme adds a lens over 2 Mpx that only captures information in black and white for specific photography and improves artificial intelligence in portrait mode. Moving to the front section, we have 32 Mpx selfies cameras on both phones and an addition regarding the characteristics of the Realme X50 Pro, such as its second 8 Mpx front lens with a 105 degree angle of view for selfies with more people.

Battery and connectivity

We have mobile phones with 5G before us and therefore prepared for tomorrow, but they also include NFC for mobile payments or other functions, the possibility of using two SIMs at the same time and Bluetooth 5.1 LE. All this with large 4,020 mAh batteries in the OPPO Reno4 Pro and 4,200 mAh for Realme. They coincide again in 65W fast charging for both smartphones , one of the best that we can currently find and with which charging the mobile takes less than a full hour.

ColorOS vs Realme UI

In both cases we are currently going to find Android 10 and some layers that have similarities between them. Realme UI comes from ColorOS and that’s why the similarities are so great. In both cases we are facing mobiles that will be updated in the months awards to the Android 11 version and with it we can enjoy ColorOS 11 and Realme UI 2.0 with more customization options and improvements.

Prices and purchase recommendation

Before staying with one of the two phones it is very important that we put their prices on the table, a very important point if we want to take the mobile with the best offer and benefits. Starting with OPPO’s Reno4 Pro we find it in its version with 12 + 256 GB for a price of 799 euros but taking into account that it includes Bang & Olufsen H4 headphones valued at 300 euros. In the case of the Realme X50 Pro in its same version we have it for 499 euros, which leaves us a price difference to consider.

For price, the OPPO Reno4 Pro offers a gift that if we are interested has a great relationship and if we do not want it we can sell it or give it away and it would leave us both phones at the same 499 euros . For the same price, doubts remain high. Looking for power, better zoom and a little more batteries, buying the Realme X50 Pro is the best option, although if we want a curved screen, ColorOS and everything else in what it contains, the OPPO Reno4 Pro is another great option.
