We face two mid-range mobiles between which the purchase decision is not easy at all, we are going to meet the Moto G9 Play against the Redmi Note 9S . Two terminals that have arrived this year 2020 to take an important position in a very difficult price range since there are mobiles in abundance and practically one for each user.

Design and displays
The first section in which we stop is the one that has to do with what we see through the eyes and they are two innovative designs that share a square format in their rear cameras. Both have a fingerprint reader, although Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9S does it on the side and Moto in the center where the logo is also. In front, the selfie cameras look very different with a more modern design for Xiaomi by including the selfie camera. in the center in hole and Moto format keeping the classic drop of water.
The screen follows similar lines because it is better on the Redmi Note 9S by offering Full HD + resolution and Moto stays only in HD +. The size is 6.5 inches for the Moto and a little more at 6.7 inches for the Redmi. Furthermore Xiaomi has a higher pixel density.
Processor as a key point
Arrived at the brain of these terminals we also find great differences and again the best is in the Redmi Note 9S by including the Snapdragon 720G that is capable of performing at the best level in the heaviest apps and games. Moto is satisfied with a Snapdragon 662 that although it should not give problems or is designed for games or large demands.
The options start in both cases with 4 and 64 GB of memory but only the Redmi Note 9S increases it up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. At least the two mobiles can be expanded via MicroSD.
How many cameras do you need
Although the two terminals have a square format behind they do not offer the same lenses, the Moto G9 Play mid-range has three cameras where it integrates main sensor, macro and sensor for portraits, something to which the Redmi adds a wide angle of 8 Mpx. At least the important sensor in the two mobiles is 48 Mpx with f / 7.9 aperture to photograph even at night.
The front camera of the Redmi Note 9S has more detail thanks to the 16 Mpx support, the Moto G9 Play remaining at 8 Mpx. Also in video recording Xiaomi offers more options and reaches a 4K resolution, so the winner in this section is clear.
The battery will not be a problem
At this point, the two phones are well prepared in equal measure, since the Redmi Note 9S with 5,020 mAh and the Moto G9 Play with 5,000 mAh allow us to reach the end of the day without any problem. Fast charges are 18W and 15W respectively for Xiaomi and Moto, which offers us a full charge in approximately one and a half hours.
Connectivity is key because only the Moto G9 Play has NFC for mobile payments but they both have an audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0 GPS and 4G.
Android vs MIUI
The operating system of both is Android 10 but the MIUI layer that we see in the Redmi Note 9s offers us a very different aspect with options that Motorola does not integrate. Even so, Moto also makes changes to the system and adds a camera app with improvements and corrections as well as its own apps for the service of users. This will depend more on our tastes than on what they can give us.
Prices and purchase recommendation
To decide on one of these two phones we also have to know their prices which will give us a pleasant surprise as they are quite accessible. We found the option of 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of memory on equal terms at the same price on Amazon and this makes it easier for us to choose between one or the other.
As we have seen before, the cameras, screen and processor are better in the Xiaomi, therefore buying the Redmi Note 9S is a better option at equal prices. Otherwise it is a matter of taste and you will be the one who makes the final decision.
