Amazfit Band 5: the Differences with the Xiaomi Mi Band 5

The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 landed this summer, to improve some aspects of the Mi Band 4 but without huge changes in general. Along the way there were some features that sounded strong for the bracelet such as NFC connectivity, blood oxygen meter or a more than rumored compatibility with Amazon Alexa. Now comes the new Amazfit Band 5, a sister of the Mi Band 5 that integrates some of these improvements.

There is no doubt that the leap between the Mi Band 5 and the Mi Band 4 has not been as great as the one from the Mi Band 3 to the Mi Band 4. Also, many features fell by the wayside. Now the users of the Mi Band 5 will look with even more suspicion at the new launch of the firm, which will take place in a few days in the United States and which is called Amazfit Band 5.

Same features and some more …

This twin of the Mi Band 5 is a wearable with traced features, such as its 1.1-inch color AMOLED screen, with a resolution of 126 x 294 pixels. It also allows you to switch between more than 45 watch faces and allows you to monitor heart rate, sleep, health or menstrual cycle, which was one of the novelties of the Mi Band 5.

However, the Amazfit Band 5 can measure the level of oxygen in the blood through its SpO2 sensor, something that the Mi Band 5 lacks. Furthermore, it can receive voice commands thanks to its compatibility with Amazon Alexa. In this way the user can configure alarms or timers. Like its twin, it integrates 11 sport modes and is 5ATM water resistant. It also has control for music and the camera and promises up to 15 days of autonomy. It also does not lack the stress level monitoring that is present in the Mi Band 5.

On sale in a few days

The bracelet will go on sale in the United States starting next September 21 at a price of 45 dollars , and can be purchased through Amazon. Except for surprise, at the moment nothing does indicate that Xiaomi intends to market this new bracelet in Europe, something that would undoubtedly please many users. However, with Xiaomi you never know and even user pressure can make the company move, as is currently the case with the Mi 10 Ultra and the unanimous request of the community, for a European marketing.
