How to Change the Screen of an iPhone 7 and 7 Plus

If you’re experiencing battery issues on your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, you may already have a replacement. This is especially remarkable if your phone is already a few years old, since batteries are usually the materials that suffer the most over time and regardless of whether they are taken care of well or poorly. So, we will tell you how you can change it yourself and we will give you a series of previous tips that you should take into account before proceeding.

Be careful if your iPhone is under warranty

Change the Screen of an iPhone 7 and 7 Plus

If you recently purchased the iPhone, you may have a warranty, either with Apple or with the seller. In any case, the rules in these cases are strict regarding the internal manipulation of the devices. The moment a single part is disassembled, either to change an item or simply to see what the iPhone looks like inside, the warranty is totally lost and therefore you will lose the right to free repairs and other services attached to it. Therefore, we do not recommend you to carry out this process if you find yourself in this case. What’s more, we recommend you visit the article in which we tell you how much it costs to change the battery of an iPhone 7 to give you an idea.

Don’t take risks if you’re not very handy

You don’t need high engineering knowledge or anything similar to proceed to change the battery of an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus yourself, but at least you must have a certain morning to get around easily. Electronic devices can be very sensitive to any screw-up once they are open, so you could inadvertently damage a circuit or component and leave your phone in poor condition. Therefore, do not risk doing it if you do not consider yourself skilled for it. You can also use a third party to do it for you.

Why change the battery yourself

Time and savings are the main advantages of changing the battery yourself. Time because you will not have to take the equipment to any technical service and the delay will depend solely and exclusively on you. And savings because you can find batteries for less than 20 euros . Of course, for very good quality they are not original and therefore the experience may not be the same, in addition to the phone indicating in Settings that it is not original. In any case, don’t risk putting in a battery with too much amperage. The following two are the ones we recommend for this process.

It should be noted that the original batteries of these teams are 1,960 mAh and 2,900 mAh respectively, while the ones we recommend are 2,200 mAh and 3,500 mAh and also come with a specific tool kit for these phones.

Steps to follow to change the battery of an iPhone 7

Regardless of whether you have an iPhone 7 or an iPhone 7 Plus, the process to follow is the same. The only changes you’ll notice about these effects are the size of both devices, but otherwise it will be the same.

  1. Remove the screws from the bottom with the screwdriver that is included in the kit-
  2. Gradually and gently remove the suction cup that separates the screen from the body. You can help yourself with a suction cup for it.
  3. Remove the bottom of the device and the screen by pulling it down.
  4. Cut the special water protection tape on top.
  5. Now remove the plate that protects the connectors of the screen with their respective screws, which are different for each case.
  6. Gently push down on the connectors to fully remove the display.
  7. Remove the screws that are on the protective plate of the battery connector.
  8. Use special tweezers to remove the glue from under the battery.
  9. Paste the double-sided tape in the space where you will place the new battery.
  10. Put the connectors and screws on the plates as they were.
  11. Put, if you have it, the sealing of frames to return to have an iPhone with IP67 (protection against water and dust).
  12. Anchor the top, then the bottom, and attach the screws.

In this way you can once again enjoy decent autonomy in your terminal, although we insist on stressing that in the end it will not have the same durability as an original battery of those offered by Apple as a replacement.
