We may soon find that the subtitles, the audio of the content we play or the profile of our Netflix account are in a language other than ours . This may occur due to a problem with the configuration of our own profile or the device we are currently using. If you have encountered this problem when opening the platform, this is all you have to do to solve it.
The first thing we should do is detect what exactly the problem is, if it is the profile of our Netflix account that is shown in another language, if it is only the subtitles or if on the contrary, it is the audio of the content we reproduce that It is heard in a language other than ours. In each case we will have to act differently to try to solve the problem.

How to change the language of your Netflix profile
If when entering the platform we realize that the language of our profile has changed and we see everything in a different one from ours, these are the steps to follow to solve it:
- We log into Netflix in a computer or mobile browser.
- Select the option Manage profiles.

- We choose our profile (we can have several if we share the account with other people).
- We open the Language drop-down.
- We select our language.

- Click on Save.
- We close the session.
- We log in again and check if everything is correct.
So you can change the subtitle language
Although Netflix is available in a lot of languages, the platform usually only shows the most relevant for each user when making use of the service. However, for downloaded titles, it will only show us the two most relevant languages for each user. If our preferred subtitle language does not appear as an option:
- We log in with our Netflix account in the browser of a PC or mobile.
- Select the option Manage profiles.
- We choose our profile.
- We select the preferred subtitle language from the Language drop-down menu.
- We try to play the content with the subtitles again and check the language.
If they are still displayed in another language, it is possible that for that content there are no subtitles available in our language, although we may also find that they are available on one device and not on another. In this case, it is important to know that Netflix may not support subtitles for non-Latin alphabets on devices manufactured before 2014.
We may not find the option for subtitles in our language, if so, the subtitles may not be available for that language in that content in question. Also, if we realize that it is necessary to reset the subtitles every time we try to see or reproduce a title with an age classification of adolescents or older, then we must establish the favorite language of the subtitles. This will save our settings for future visualizations.
Steps to follow to change the audio language on the platform
In the event that we have problems with the audio language, we must take into account the device on which we are playing the content. In the case that we are using an Apple TV 2 or Apple TV 3 , these would be the steps to follow:
- Select the Settings option on the home screen of Apple TV.
- We choose Audio and subtitles.
- We select the preferred language .
- We return to Netflix and try to play the content again.
If we still listen to the audio in another language, it may not be available for the selected language.
Now, if instead of an Apple TV we are using Netflix from any other device , then what we have to do is:
- We log in to our Netflix account from a browser on the PC or mobile.
- We enter profile management.
- We select our profile.
- We choose the language from the Language drop-down list.
- We replay the content.
If you continue listening in the previous language, this content may not be available with the audio in our language . Now, if we discover that we need to reset the subtitles every time we try to see or play a title with an age rating of teenagers or older, then we must establish the favorite language of the subtitles. This will save our settings for the following visualizations.
