The Pluto TV television service is a platform that provides all its users with television channels of different genres completely free of charge: from music or children to sports, culture or the best series. The company was founded eight years ago and is available in our country. It can be played from any Apple or Android device and is available on other platforms such as Xbox One, PlayStation 4 (not available in our country), Chromecast or Fire TV, although you can also go directly to their website to start enjoying all these channels.
When choosing any of the content that we have available on the platform, we may notice that some options that usually appear in other similar video applications do not appear.
Options when playing content
In the case of Pluto TV, it will allow us to raise or lower the volume depending on how we want, as well as change the size of the screen, being able to put it in “cinema mode” or choosing the other option that does not allow the entire screen to be occupied.
However, we will notice that the option to put subtitles does appear, although it does not allow us to click on it, so it is impossible for us to view any content with subtitles.
It does have an option to share the content. When selecting it, two options will appear: either copy the link directly and send it wherever we want or choose the Twitter option, to share directly through a tweet in our personal account the content that we have to see.
This only happens in the PC version, since in the mobile application it will let us share in many more ways.
In addition, the application for mobile devices will also allow us to pause the content, advance or delay it 15 seconds or even start watching the content from scratch.
Can the resolution be changed?
However, it is striking that the platform does not enable an option to choose the resolution in which we want to see the video, something that other platforms such as YouTube do offer their users.
In the case of Pluto TV, the resolution changes itself, depending on the quality of our Internet connection. Even so, forget about reaching 4K resolution or something similar, since the maximum that Pluto TV offers is 1080p. That is why this is the maximum that the platform can offer.
Despite this, it is still a good enough quality to enjoy the different content that the platform offers us.
