AMD Ryzen 5 3600
It is undoubtedly the most affordable option within the 3000 series and is therefore perhaps the most valued. Its six cores and 12 threads with a boost speed of 4.2 GHz and a price at the limit of 200 euros today have made what was once the mainstream range now accessible to many more users.
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
If before we talked about the virtues and the calculation of speed and price, the Ryzen 7 2700X is possibly the best CPU for those who have a very tight pocket this Christmas. Eight cores and 16 threads at 4.35 GHz , but above all a price below 200 euros, make this CPU positions as the most attractive processor of all 2019.
AMD Ryzen 5 3400G
Without doubt the best APU of the year. A perfect complement to our PC if we decide to dispense with dedicated GPU and save good money for other components. Logically its iGPU is not up to the low range of the AMD or NVIDIA itself, but it is a very capable graphic for indie games and some well-known game that is not demanding.
AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Those who need some more power and intend to stand up to the fastest gaming processor without leaving a good money will see one of the best options in the Ryzen 7 3800X. Its 8 cores and 16 threads at 4.5 GHz will allow us, among other things, to play and render at the same time without loss of performance.
Its price is below 400 euros, more than 100 of its direct rival, the i9-9900K, which exceeds in all aspects except the crucial: gaming. Even so, despite the fact that due to its range, it cannot be exceeded in that section, in the rest it is matched or above, so it is more than attractive if we have quite important needs in terms of performance.
Intel Core i9-9900K
It is undoubtedly one of the most named processors in this 2019, and is that among other things it has been the first to reach a frequency of 5 GHz as standard. He is currently the king of gaming with permission from his recent older brother KS, therefore, within the mainstream range he has been the enemy to beat by AMD.
Although they have not managed to unseat it, it is true that the differences are very narrow and that their price is somewhat higher, but it is the price to pay to extract until the last FPS of your graphics card and it has certainly marked a before and a later in the gaming market.
Intel Core i9-9900KS
The older brother now takes a step further in terms of its characteristics, since, although it is a 9900K as such, this processor is a kind of limited edition without setting the number of units that arrives with the particularity that all its cores can run at 5 GHz.
He is the current king of gaming and as such, being wafers selected to achieve such characteristics, its price and availability are antagonistic
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
He has been in charge of democratizing the 12 nuclei , even getting several world records of overclock along the way. We could say that, although the price is above 9900K and does not exceed it in gaming, for those who edit video or work with high workloads this 3900X is a CPU much more complete than the Intel option.
It has the peculiarity of being the first AM4 processor of the 3000 series with two CCDs, where its bandwidth for RAM is doubled and allows it to operate with greater performance in this section, something that logically shares the 3950X, which we are not going to get on the list for obvious reasons.
AMD Threadripper 1920X
Yes, it is a first-generation Threadripper, yes, its IPC is lower and yes, it consumes 180 watts. But we are talking about a CPU with 12 cores and 24 threads with a frequency of 4 GHz that is currently priced well below 200 euros. It is clearly a processor focused on those who need many cores and not so much to extract until the last FPS in gaming.
Therefore and given the fall in its price, we believe it should be on this list for the reasons mentioned.
Intel Core i9-7980XE
Although it is already two years old, we are talking about an 18 core at 4.4 GHz that has dropped from the clouds to a price of 1122 euros. So the Ryzen 9 3950X has in this processor a tough rival in price quality, where there is also the possibility of making delid safely, thereby achieving better temperatures and loudness in our cooling system.
Intel Core i9-10980X Extreme Edition
Finally and finally, we have decided to include this processor for two reasons: to be the first 18-core processor to reach 4.8 GHz , and secondly, to do so with a TDP of only 165 watts . The only problem is that its availability at the moment is zero, but it should be included in the retail listings in a short space of time, where it should reach a price of about 1200 euros with taxes already included.
